amazing history in a small hands on museum. Enjoyed the movie that gave details. My daughter enjoyed the dress up area. Something here for all ages. Plan to spend about 2 hours.

the way the works are exhibited is great, so much of space and light!And the video show was exceptional, relating the domination of the Roman Empire to very recent political developments

The Limes museum worth a stop over in the city of Aalen. It tells you the story of the Romans, how the built the wall, how their life may have been and you can see quite a lot of original artifact . There are some interactive things to do. The original walls of the former caste and to walk over the former streets is really a step back in time. The museum us enjoyable for all kind of ages and the entrance is very low.

Very nice german food and excellent beer. The meet was really awesome and the price more than reasonable. I enjoyed it a lot.

Haven't been inside for quite a while and I believe that they still have the same exhibition running they had for a long time. However the Roman days there were once again brilliant with nice weather.

We visited the museum while staying with family in Aalen. It is well organized, has very nice displays and the outdoor area which contains the actual ruins of the Roman outpost is nice.You can actually get up close and touch the foundation stones. There is also a great re-creation of what the buildings would have been like in their actual time. the museum is with in easy walking distance of the Town center and acessible to the bus or train station.

Der Limes, als Verteidigungswall und Grenze wird ausführlich dokumentiert, dabei natürlich speziell auf die größte römische Reitertruppe nördlich der Alpen Bezug genommen.Interessant wird dabei der Bogen vom historisch Großen zum Einzelschicksal, vom Damals zum Heute gespannt. Wenn auch viel Bekanntes präsentiert wird, geschieht dies in angereicherter Form.Begeistert hat mich die Sonderausstellung zum Thema Bronzeguss im alten Rom.Das Außengelände ist bedauerlicherweise im Winter nur eingeschränkt begehbar gestaltet.

Wir denken, es bleiben nach dem Besuch dieses Museums nur noch wenige Fragen über die Römer in Baden-Württemberg, deren Tund und Leben oder über Struktur und Verlauf des Limes offen. Die Ausstellung zeigt anhand von gut lesbaren Tafeln und beschriebenen Funden Neues und Bekanntes. Die Bronceskulpturen im Erdgeschoss ergänzen den Geschichtsteil im ersten Stock.

Den Besuch kann ich nur jedem empfehlen.Man lernt doch viel, auch über die eigene Geschichte!Für Familien ist viel Platz, und auch Menschen mit Handicap können sich auf em Gelände bewegen.

Ótima atividade para quem gosta do período romano. Onde hoje está Aalen um dia já houve uma muralha romana que delimitava o império (Limes) e uma cavalaria. O museu traz objetos e escavações que mostram a magnitude da obra romana, e também objetos do cotidiano dos cidadãos que lá residiam. Destaque para a grande coleção de sapatos de couro daquele período (sapatos femininos, masculinos e infantis). Imperdível.
