After visiting a few years ago with just my wife we went back with friends and our children, lovely day, lots to do for all the family, helpful & friendly staff although food and drinks were a little overpriced, monkey train was a bit disappointing but probably the time of day that we went on the train

If you love wild animals,if you love the big walks and if you want to have fun for a day while you are near Bielefeld or Dortmund then you have to see Safari Park at Stokenbrok. The ticket is a little expensive(28€) but it surely worth it.I went a week ago,in July, the weather was great and I suppose it helped a lot.

Loved this park, I've not visited many zoo's in Europe but worth a visit. Especially the white tigers. More of a theme park than zoo but very nice.

This park is quite nice because you can drive your car among the animals. Next to that the amusement park is quite nice for kids till 10-12 years. Older kids which have already visited bigger parks will not get excited about it. But still for youngsters it is a nice day out. The price for such a park is quite high, but if you consider that they have to feed and maintain the animals, than it is o.k.. The food in the restaurant you are better of if you avoid it. The small train is really nice, the monkeys will come to your car and will eat whatever you give them. But of course you are old and wise enough to know what to give them.

The park is not new but a fun day for small children. My children were 7 and 4 at the time and had a great time. There were lots of animals to see and it was the first time they seen white lions and tigers. Plus there were some fun (older) rides for all ages and the best part was next to none waiting in the lines for the rides. The park was not empty but not over crowed.

Also called Safariland Hollywood-Park Stukenbrock. We visited here in August as it was close to a conference we were attending. We love animals and zoos but had never been to a drive-through safari park before. This is an older attraction, about 40 years old. It is not first rate. It may not even be second-rate. But it was a fascinating peek into German culture and was well worth what we paid. It's a little off the beaten path, not far from Paderborn. The first thing you do, after paying, is take your drive through the safari park section of the attraction. The first section is lions. Each section is double gated; each section has at least one watcher in a protected vehicle. There are strong warnings not to open a window in the big cat sections. Mostly the lions were doing what cats do--sleep. The next section, the tiger section, was more active and it was a lot of fun to watch the tigers at play and mock-fighting each other. We were able to take our time, as the park was not full, as it was a weekday and the weather was a bit wet at times. That made it more fun as we were able to have plenty of time to enjoy the animals. The final section had herbivores, such as elephants (who were separated from the vehicles by a strong barrier) and Llamas and some European cattle somewhat like longhorn cattle. Then, you park in the parking rea (included) to visti the rest of the park. That is about a third amusement rides (a medium roller coaster, car and boat rides, and an "flying elephant" ride), a third shows, such as a wild-west show, which we did not see, and a humorous magic show loosely (very loosely) based on the "cousin of Austin Powers", which was quite a bit of fun, and a third more animals. There was a white lion section, and a white tiger exhibit (where the orginial ones had come from our sister zoo in Cincinnati (we live in Columbus). There was also a train ride though a baboon exhibit, and a number of other animal exhibits, including a "zorse" (half zebra/half horse). All of the animals looked to be well cared for, though some of the areas had seen better days. But everything was clean and folks were having a lot of fun.We even enjoyed a wine tasting exhibit. There is a picnic area and you can bring your own lunch, though there were a number of snack stands and an oriental restaurant in a tent. We thoroughly enjoyed watching the German families in their milieu. Warning for Americans--while there is plenty of signage in English, you would probably enjoy this more if you speak some German. We were glad we went. You can easily spend an enjoyable day here. But it's not the fanciest and newest place you could go. Cost was about 25 Euros per person for us--and there are discounts and discount days. It is kid friendly too.
