It's a great weekly market, yummy olive stand, fresh Dutch cheeses, flowers, meat, fish, crafts, fruits and vegetables. You can't go wrong, but make sure you get some Reibenküchen - fried potato fritters and be sure to get a portion of Apfelmus - apple sauce! YUM!

The market is situated around the cathedral on Wednesday and Saturday. Lots of food stalls, fresh food, gifts, spices, clothes and much more. If you are hungry have the pea soup and frankfurter - 3 euros for lunch really filling. The queue for the pea soup was the longest so obviously very popular. But you could also visit the market to get a good idea of the local area.

This is an excellent market. Fresh meat of all kinds, fresh fruits and vegetables, milk and cheese products, flowers, nuts, whatver you can wish for in terms of fresh and artisanal food (large stands for honey, for example) you can get there. Lot´s of food stalls are around to satisfy your appetite for small money (beware of long waiting times) at the moment mushrooms are abundant.Really a place alone to walk through and see what kind of good food is an offer and be inspired by all the nice things (freshly made fresh cheese in different variations, olives, greek antipasti...)You get the picture, the market itself is worth a drive to Münster for foodies. Comebin it with a visit to the dome and you will have very nice two hours. It is crowded of course!Beware of one thing though: As it is a market it is cash only and the cash will get drained out of your purse very very quickly. A nibble here, a bite there, some meat over there... and the food is pretty expensive in itself. So be aware.

My parents and I enjoy the morning market on Wednesday. It's lively, many stalls and we bought 1 kg of very big fresh and sweet strawberry for 7 euro and 1kg of big sweet cherry for 8 euro. There is an old man selling cheese and many people bought from him because the price is so much cheaper than other shops you find in netherlands or germany. We also bought some vegetable and we enjoy the town itself. Parking is not as expansive as in Netherland so the overall experience is great.

The food and flower market is a nice place to be in Münster. Here you can buy all kind of transregional food as well as local specialities. The location is in the center of Münster. From this place, just in front of the cathedral, you can easily walt to the old town, the famous town hall, the Prinzipalmarkt and other historic locations in the city.Cafes, pubs and restaurants are all around and you will also find some exclusive shops close by.

I was quite excited when I found the wochenmarkt on my last visit to Münster. I am a sucker for markets like this and even if I don't buy anything, it's always fun to experience the people around you. The interactions are fun to watch and you can even learn some of the language just by listening. My visit was in the Summer but from what I hear, it is open year round on Wednesdays and Saturdays. When I read about the market online before my visit, I was expecting more of a variety in the products but when I arrived I found that it was mostly fruits, vegetables, and other edible items. There were, however, a few vendors selling items like bags and jewlery.Overall, I think it's something you can't pass up if you're in town on a market day!

I simply love going to the Wochenmarkt in Münster! The best time of the year to visit it is, naturally, spring/summer, when all the stalls and stall owners seem happier! But the market is worth a visit all year round! In the market you'll find fruits, veggies, cheese and other dairy products, flowers, fish, beef, chicken meat, pork (in all kinds and shapes!), ... and many other yummy things!Every Wednesday and Saturday at Domplatz.

Whenever I plan a trip to Muenster I make sure it's on a Wednesday or Saturday - the market days! Of course you find the usual selection of vendors for fruit and veggies, flowers, bread, cheese, Dutch licorice and much more. I do appreciate that I get a chance to get a taste before I make my selection. But it's the atmosphere of the square in front of the cathedral that makes me want to linger longer. At least till it's time for lunch. Again, many vendors offer lunch choices from traditional potato pancakes with apples sauce over fish buns to cappuccinos and cakes and more. Fortunately, many places have large awnings and umbrellas set up which protect the customers on rainy days - not uncommon in this city ...
