Twinsliders

We were surprised to see so much at this small zoo and for such a cheap entrance fee. There are a range of creatures from penguins to gorillas to giant tortoises! Unfortunately there were some animals we didn't see - the butterfly house is closed until March and none of the big cats were out in their enclosures so we didn't see any of them. On the plus side there were many varieties of birds in the park and you could get very close to some of them. It would have been good for them to warn people at the entrance that the big cats would not be available as they are the main attraction. Not many people about so we got to see things properly. Overall a cheap way to spend a morning or afternoon.

very nice zoo, with lots of space to walk around. The nGorilla-Garden is very interessting as wel as the Butterfly-House.

Well maintained and great mix of animals. Good conditions and staff very attentative. Charges to enter reasonable and no major ques to see most popular attractions.

Whenever we visit the grandparents we stop by. Our kids love it. Great zoo. We have been coming here for years. Only downside is the restaurant which seems a little old and a bit shabby

Quite nice, it is not too big, but has a nice amont of animals, and they all seemed weel-treated. A good option, mostly with kids.

There's bigger, there's better, there's younger, there might be cleaner - but it is a perfect size for a stroll with Kids and a pretty decent range of animals, too....

Didn't have a lot to do as the weather wasn't the best. Decided on the zoo.Best choice of the holiday. Brilliant day out. Sealions were fantastic to watch.

I've visited the zoo as a kid and liked the animal voice record (which was available for purchase in the zoo's shop at that time) and the hourly water animal presentations. The zoo has still a very good public transport connection to the inner city of Krefeld : departure of trams (lines 042 and 043) every 10 minutes !Many animals are separated from the visitors by ditches , not fences.Due to an extensive TV report the zoo has just been extended with a butterfly house. If you want to see a larger zoo with more attractions and if you can afford the time and money for a trip to Duisburg (60 minutes by train and tram from Krefeld) , you should definitely not miss the zoo in Duisburg !

This zoo was an unexpected hidden attraction in Krefeld, near Moers. The zoo is modern, with ample spaces for the animals, a large choice of animals and an unexpctd (low) entrance fee. The zoo is a real park, where it is good to walk and watdch the animals. We spent several quiet hours there and we will certainly go back.
