This beach is only accessible by car otherwise you will need to walk from the nearest bus drop off point which I heard was 1km away. There is large car park nearby as well as couple of places to eat. The beach is protected, clean and sandy. Should be perfect for families. We went there the last week of September and it was busier than expected. I can imagine this beach can get very busy during season.

We arrived at the beach after 6 pm in September. There wasn't many people at that time. The beach is clean and sandy. The sunset is fabulous there!

Situated far from hotel/touristic activity, this picturesque place is worth visiting. The bay is surrounded by relatively high mountains. You can find chaise-longues and umbrellas for around 5 euros a set (common price in the island) in the middle of it. There will be a nude beach to your left. Another caretta-caretta nesting beach, very clean.

One of the best in Zakynthos and one of the most quiet places. Great for relax! We did't see any turtles, but a lady there told us they go out on shore during the night.

Go there at 7 am to see the newly born turtles! During day it is a good beach, nice and sandy, shallow see.

This is a beach were the turtles are nesting so you have to be respectful and not go to close to the restricted areas. It's expensive to rent sunbeds but visit this beach anyway. The surroundings are stunning, the sand and the water is amazing!

As tourism continues to increase, this beautiful beach gets busier and busier. Unfortunately when it's extremely busy, not only do the poor turtles suffer, the experience is less than desirable.I suppose if you have kids, it's fun as there are lots around and the sea itself is absolutely stunning, but it's far too busy for me.The prices have also sky rocketed. They charge 8 Euros for half a day (2 beds & umbrella) and 15 Euros for a whole day. 15 Euros !!!! It's simply ridiculous. My favorite beach is at Vrahos Beach Snack Bar, only a couple of kilometers away in Vasilikos, where one can enjoy an amazing stretch of quiet beach, gorgeous sea and fantastic hospitality. Kostas the owner of Vrahos is one of the friendliest people I know. Plus, it only costs 5 Euros a day and you'll be served the most delicious snacks, coldest beers and coolest cocktails you can get on the island. We always visit Gerakas because it's in the area, we always have a rental car and it's nice to see. I don't think we'll ever spend the day there any more unfortunately...

Worth a visit although be warned the beds are expensive e10 (I think) and in high season you are only allowed to stay here for two hours. Gorgeous cove, very pretty, good views of Turtle Island on a clear day, soft sands and shallow waters, great for kids although digging (quite rightly) is only allowed on the sea front. No facilities on the beach but there are shop and tavernas and cafes within a ten minute walk from the beach.
