Deposito de Guerra is not just a museum it is one man's lifetimes passion for history. This is a remarkable place we were amazed at Mr Paraponiaris's collections of artifacts from the Second World War. The history of the island was really brought to life here - a quite incredible story and a fascinating day out. After visiting the museum we found walking guides from Leros Active and walked all over the island looking at military ruins left from the war. Quite amazing!

this was most interesting. The displays made the history very vivid and the video presentation showed just how much the islanders suffered.

Very good but as I don't understand any War this just shows how ww2 affected all parts of Europe even the now little gems we go for our hols to.

It was really great to see what soldiers used in the war, not only their cloths, guns and bumbs but also the instruments of the field hospital were interesting. The noises in the tunnel made it feel real. To do when you visit Leros!!!

Fantastic museum to look for the history about the batle of Leros island Greece is very nice if you came to Leros island go to this museum

Οπως είναι γνωστό η μάχη της Λέρου κράτησε 54 μέρες, που που έγιναν σκληρές μάχες τόσο στη θάλασσα όσο και στο νησί. πάνω από 1300 αεροπορικές επιδρομές με αποτέλεσμα η Λέρος αποτελεί έναν ιστορικό τόπο και το φυσικό μουσείο που σε ταξιδεύει στο χρόνο, ο Παραπονιάρης έχει καταφέρει με την οικογενειακή παράδοση να συλλέξει να συντηρήσει και να εκθέσει πολλά ευρήματα από αυτόν τον αγώνα. Αξίζει κάποιος που επισκέπτεται τη Λέρο να επισκεφθεί αυτό το χώρο.

Περπατώντας ανάμεσα στο ποικίλο ιστορικό/ στρατιωτικό αλλά και καθημερινής χρήσεως υλικό που εκτίθεται στο μουσείο αυτό , νοιώθεις να ξετυλίγονται στα μάτια σου εκείνες οι ημέρες του 1943. Μέρες πόνου , αλλά και ηρωισμού. Καθετί εκεί μέσα έχει κάτι να σου πει , κάτι να σου διδάξει. Είναι οι ιστορίες του απλού μαχητή , του Ιταλού που ζούσε εκεί για χρόνια, του Γερμανού , Νεοζηλανδού , Ινδού που βρέθηκε εκεί να μάχεται αναίτια ο ένας τον άλλο, του Έλληνα που έβλεπε στο σπίτι του να παίζεται το αιώνιο δράμα του Πολέμου.Στολές , όπλα , επιγραφές , έγγραφα, φωτογραφίες, αντικείμενα καθημερινής χρήσης , κομμάτια αεροσκαφών , πυροβόλα ανασυρμένα από τη θάλασσα , όλα συγκεντρωμένα μα μεράκι και αγάπη από τον Γιάννη Παραπονιάρη που 50 χρόνια με ευλάβεια διασώζει. Σώνοντας Μνήμες και συναισθήματα δικές του αλλά και ενός ολόκληρου τόπου.Μέρος , κάτι παραπάνω από Μουσείο...

Deposito di Guerra è un interessante museo, creato con tanta passione da Iannis Paraponiaris, che ha raccolto testimonianze, vecchie armi e divise, foto, libri e documenti sulla battaglia di Leros (8 settembre - 16 novembre 1943). Il museo è ricco di oggetti che descrivono le fasi della battaglia, da differenti prospettive (italiana, tedesca e britannica). è un luogo culturale molto importante che contribuisce a conservare la memoria di una pagine di storia dimenticata.Deposito di Guerra is an interesting museum, created with passion by Iannis Paraponiaris, which has collected old weapons and uniforms, photos, documents and books on the Battle of Leros, during the WWII (8 September to 16 November 1943). The museum is full of objects that describe the phases of the battle, from different perspectives. It’s a very important cultural place that helps to preserve the memory of a forgotten page of history.

Das Privatmuseum ist ein absolutes Muss, wer sich für die Geschichte von Leros während der des Schlacht um Leros im II WW interressiert. Der Eigentümer erklärt selbst wo und was er gefunden hat.Diese Privatsammlung kommt noch weit vor dem Tunnelmuseum von Lakki Bay.
