If you like this sort of thing, then you won't be let down.Unless you're driving, there is a pretty hefty treck up a mountain to get access up to the entrance, but it's Greece so you will have all the time in the world.No marketing to navigate through and although the opening times are a bit random (again, it's Greece!) it's worth the trip.

With formations dating back 50million years.. this is a must see attraction in Antiparos. Do check on the timings etc before visiting.

Amazing!!! You go so deep in a natural cave.... Besides of the natural ambiance, they succeeded to put it togheter with a very safe stairs so even children (up to 5y.o.) can walk on. It's a must do if you are in Antiparos or in Paros. There are some "graffities" from the 16th century, from the kings and from tuff explorers (at this time the stairs didn't exist)!!!

This place is highly reccomended to visit, very interesting cave with plenty of crystals. Be aware though there are more than 400-500 steps to go down and then up again.. so it is not reccomended to people with leg problems.

If visiting the island of Antiparos Greece, don't miss the famous cave! This cave has been in use since Neolithic days and has graffiti from as far back as Alexander the Great (300 AD) to Lord Byron. It has been refurbished to include safe concrete steps into the depths..with convenient resting points. It is quite a hike down, (and even more difficult coming up) but the effort is worth it! The Stalagmites and Stalactites are fabulous and beautifully lighted! As several reviewers have mentioned, there are panoramic views over the village of Soros to islands to the south including, on a clear day, as far as Santorini. To reach the cave, you can rent a car, or take the public bus, or arrange to join a tour provided by Oliaris Travel (in the port of Antiparos).

I had heard a lot about the caves before visiting so I was a little disappointed as my expectations didn't quite match up to what I had been told, although it is worth a visit if in Antiparos. The best thing about this trip for me was the views of Paros and Antiparos from the top of the mountain, which were absolutely stunning! Also, in my opinion you need to be quite fit for this. I saw a lot of people turn around and go back up before the half way point as there are about 400 steps to the bottom and they were too tired to continue. Also, be aware that pregnant women, anyone with a heart condition, asthma or any breathing difficulties will not be permitted into the caves.

This cave is worth the trip! The views of Antiparos and Paros from the top are breathtaking. Caution to anyone that isn't able to climb a lot of stairs - there are over 400 steps down!

I consider myself in good shape and work out regularly. However, there was a sign to not go down if you have a heart condition or are pregnant. Which I am both. Big disappointment coming all this way. I believe most of it is precaution but mostly due to the oxygen levels. They should have this on a website.

It is most definitely NOT worth to pay an entrance fee of currently (Sep.2014) 5 euros just to have a look at other people's graffiti or street art as they call it nowadays. Very disappointing!You pay the same price for the entrance at the island of Delos where you can really still see something interesting.

Getting there is the most interesting part. Antiparos is a very small island accessible from one port and a local ferry.The cave is accessible from a mountain top, so the climbing and the view are great. The cave is not impressive if you already have seen natural caves. Be prepared to go down and climb back up 250 steps (in excellent condition mind you); hard on the old knees.No need to bring warm clothes, it is not really chilly.Take your car or motorbike on the ferry because there is no transportation there.
