There are bars all along the beach, all of them blaring loud music into the air. Even if you avoid the sun chairs and sit somewhere on the sand between bars, you'll still hear the music. This is ok in some cases, but keep it in mind in case you're looking for solitude. *ALSO*, avoid the far end of the beach (the end furthest from Nafplio). I noticed there was a smell in the air in that location, and I was later told that there is a municipal garbage dump behind the hills there. My contact in Nafplio told me the best beach is actually the one just on the other side of the Palamidi hill, basically "in town".

The most popular beach. Citation of summer life of Nafplio. Great beach that offers, in addition to organized, and quiet corners.Very long beach with shallow waters. Suitable for families with children.

This beach has lovely clean water and is a lovely walk along the promenade and around the point, or alternatively walk here through town. Used by locals for swimming and fishing and tourist for cooling off. Not to be missed if you fancy a dip in the Med!

Can get crowded, especially on the weekend. Otherwise, it's a beautiful spot to recover from all the sightseeing you've been doing.

We went with my young daughter. It was great! The water is crystal clear and calm and the water doesn't get deep. We walked out at least 50 ft and the water never got above my waist. Very nice beach!

This beach is beautiful and huge! It has beach bars where you can use their chairs to sit (or lie down) on the beach which you don't have to pay for, you just need to order a something or if you're not into that sort of thing (because it can get really busy and loud) you may just relax on the sand by yourself. What I'm trying to say is that the beach is not full of beach bars like some other places are, so it's convenient. Plus, you can get the bus which takes you there in 15 minutes!It's a beautiful beach with gorgeous colours. Some days the water looks better than other days but that really depends on the winds.

Soooo beautiful! We spent several days in Nafplio and we went back to Karathona Beach twice, we loved it so much.

Very clean, great restaurants, warm waters with breath taking views of mountains and islands in the distance!

The beach is nice but what is even better is the walk from Nafplio to this beach. It is a beautiful walk with many nice views! And when you have walked this 5 km you really deserve a nice drink in one of the beach clubs or a swim in the sea. Enjoy! Ps: for runners, this is also a nice track to run.
