Scenery superb, water undeep and warm in september...iTS à very bad road to get there but iTS worth the drive, dough we had one tyre broke...you have to have a bit of a good condition to do the walk from the parking to the beach...

Mostly local people at the beach. Easy drive, just follow the signs. A good place for both kids and "older kids". With fantastic caves to explore both under and above water. Crystall clear sea. This beach is a must if you are on Samos.

It's easy to go down to the beach you just need to follow the signs!If you need some relaxation time you have to visit Balos beach.It's a beatyfull place with 5 restaurants, one bar and one cafe bar which is open till 20:00 every day of the summer. The beach it's one of the biggest at Samos at around 1 km of shore and plenty of space for parking your car and your umbrella if you want to. If you don't want an umbrella you can spend some time under a tree full of shadow.Make sure that you have smokes with you because you can't find a place to buy some if you smoke. If you left out of ciggarettes you have to visit the village of Koumeika which is 5 minutes away with your car or your bike. Just visit Balos beach and enjoy your relaxation time under the hot sun at one of the most beatyfull beach at Greece. Balos is waiting for you.

Not sure where the last reviewer went to but Balos Beach on Samos is an easy drive to and plenty of free parking next to the pebbly beach.There are 4 nice restaurants and an excellent snack bar.A really wonderful place to spend a quiet day or holiday.

I'm sure the beach is lovely IF you can get there (full disclosure - we gave up). It's a 30minute drive in 1st/2nd gear along a very, *very* rough mountain track (not a road). If you are lucky your passengers are not susceptible to motion sickness. Then, when you finally arrive at what is the top of the mountain, you have to hope there's parking and walk (we are told) 30 minutes down to the beach, remembering its a 30 minute walk all the way back up! Take trainers, water and Dramamine. I'm sure the beach is amazing, just don't expect an easy journey, and go prepared.

I was quite surprised that there was no easy way to the beach. There is pretty cheap restaurant down there, but we didn't use it. Put some sneakers on, and enjoy the view what opens in front of you, when you get closer to the lagoon . 4x4 car is useful!

Очень красивый пляж и виды с гребня горной цепи на него и остров Грамвуса, но дорога - это испытание прежде всего для шин Вашего автомобиля. Не знаю, почему некоторые путешественники рекомендуют туда ехать на машине с большим клиренсом - больших ям и бугров нет, но по всей дороге булыжники величиной от ореха до хорошего яблока. Поэтому лучше бы протектор увеличить вместо клиренса (Ехал на Фокусе и в оба смотрел, где нет острых камней). За что берут 1 Евро с человека так и не понял, но отдал. Мало того мы попали в очень ветреную погоду - кроме нас на пляже купалось только пару человек, да и вообще народу было очень немного - полсотни, не более. Но место очень понравилось, хотя и не в полной мере удалось насладиться его красотой.

Стереотип, что это лучший пляж Крита полностью оправдался. Действительно, очень красивое место.Теперь из советов, что да как:1) приезжать лучше пораньше, пока нет толп туристов, то есть к 9-максимум 10 утра.2) если есть выбор, прокатная машина должна быть джип. Почему? Потому что прокат вам не покрывает езду по грунту, а там 7 км последних дороги - грунтовая дорога, которая есть смесь земли и камней, причем довольно острых и больших местами.3) удобная обувь для спуска к пляжу.4) полотешки для полежать, так как лежаки платные.

Piccolissimo paesino di pescatori, con poche vecchie case che si affacciano sulla spiaggia di ciottoli con mare cristallino, i tamerici fanno da cornice e ombra ai pochi frequentatori. Pochi lettini e qualche gazebo. La spiaggia finisce con una piccola insenatura con ampie grotte per un po' di ombra.Consigliamo l'ultima taverna in fondo alla strada (con parcheggio), Esperos, dove abbiamo pranzato con tonno alla piastra, calamari fritti, salsina di fave, vino di Samos tutto per 32 euro in due (lettini compresi). Fanno anche un ottimo caffè espresso.
