What we liked a lot: very good prepared slopes (black, red, blue), Ski Paradise area (sunshine and beautiful), big underground parking, many places for relax with sunbeds, Sky-WC with visibility from cabin over the slopes :) We skied in Schladming - Planai - Hauser Kaibling (is possible to plan your own route - we choosed only blue and red runs). It is not very cheap, but is beautiful!

The Schladming region in Styria, Austria, seems to me one of the best skiing areas I am aware of: excellent infrastructure from ski lifts in perfect conditions, slopes manicured, facilities, service attitude of staff. And if one is tired of skiing there is so much else to do, from shopping to karting, to hiking, heated swimming pools.... This holds true when we visited these places: Schladming - Planai - Hauser Kaibling. A huge continuous ski arena. Not on the cheap side, but definitely worth every Euro. To be recommended without hesitation.

we left our car in garages that were situated just above the lifts. and all the slopes were nicely done and prepared.

We last visited Schladming in 2009, we enjoyed the visit but it was getting tired. There is now new lifts, better facilities and a really great atmosphere for all to enjoy. The guys worked hard on the pistes but lack of snow then coupled with too much at once kind of spoilt the week. Lots to choose from in the evening, very authentic Austrian town with four peaks to ski in

This is one of the place which you should not miss. You can go by cable cars or can even by walk. You can get down at the middle as well or travel all the way up. The same is when you climb down. There is a station at the half way (1350 m). There is clearly marked routes for walking and for mountain bikes. I was there during winter and therefore could not have great view from the hill. Great mountain for intermediate. Not many blue runs for beginners as this is what I was mainly looking for to help my daughter improve her boarding skills. Still there was some brilliant red runs and many different runs to choose from.

From the ciotycentre of Schladming you take the c ablercar to the top of the mountain. And what a world that opens for you. Absolutely stunning. But do punt on some practical shoes.

Beautiful view of the village and Alps. Was cloudy in the Alps this trip but still a great experience. A must do for visitors during the summer months.
