Wonderful small little town with an amazing amount of ski tracks on a combination of 4 mountains. It has a trainstation with a direct connection to Salzburg. The town center has some nice shops and plenty of restaurants. Very much recommended for a skiing holiday.

I would highly recommend to spend there at least a weekend. We came for just one day and unfortunately did not manage all slopes.

We've been at Zirngast hotel from 7.02.15-14.02.15 and were in all ways satisfied with our holidays accomodation. The hotel is situated in a quiet, cozy place nevertheless it's only about 10 min. walk to the ski lift. The personal is very friendly. The cooking in the restaurantis is higher than all praises. Thanks to all the staff and the owners.

The town of Schladming has some charming restaurants, cafes, bakeries and ice cream parlours in its pedestrianised main street, making it a great place to chill at the end of the day. It is ideally situated for access to Planai, the Dachstein glacier and many other outdoor activities.

This is a classic little Austrian town within easy reach of many other interesting places. Situated in the beautiful Emms Valley, it has all the facilities a summer tourist needs. The cable car up to the Planai peak is lovely and the views and walks up there superb. Good shops, plenty of eateries and good hotels. We would come again.

Your lift pass does everything including local bus trips. In addition at the end of the day you can put your pass into a machine at the base station and it will print out your statistics for the day's skiing. The two main base stations are in the middle of town, the other two mountains are a short bus trip away or you can ski across to them and back. Most of the lifts are multiple chairs 4, 6,or 8 seats, some are heated. There is a really good beginners area with a poma and a T bar to practice on. Most runs are served by blue trails with a red run alongside, some of the reds are a bit blackish, some a bit blueish. The end of the downhill course at the bottom of Planai is 52deg., which is black enough for me!
