From the moment you walk through the entrance embedded in a large defensive wall, you enter the tournament grounds surrounded by arched passageways where you imagine spectators sat during the Middle Ages jousting competitions, it's huge! Walking through the jousting grounds you enter an arched enter into the heart of the medieval castle and it's younger addition of the renaissance. You immediately understand why movies reminiscent of Grimm brother fairy tales are filmed here. The visit to the old medieval castle is a wonderful experience to understand the life of the nobility who lived here ; as well, there is a fine collection of armor. And lastly, the falcon and bird show on the outside courtyard grounds overlooking the valley is just plain fun and impressive. Not to be missed!

There a lot of nice castles in Waldviertel, and Riosenburg is indeed very nice. We were there during a children's weekend with a lot of attractions specific to that day. But since this is only a couple of times a year, I'll now write about what there is to see all the time. The castle itself is beautifully kept, perched at the edge of a cliff with breathtaking views. When we went we only had limited access to the interirors but what we could see was beautiful. Finally, there i a Birds of prey show where you get to see trained hunting falcons and eagles. It was a really nice experience overall, and we had lunch at the restaurant just outside the castle where one can eat far better than average in a very nicely decorated high class restaurant.

Das Schloss Rosenburg ist ein echtes Ritterschloss. Im Sommer war ich auf der Rosenburg beim Ritterfest und echt toll, viele Ritter auch echt Ritterspiele für jeder Mann, auch für Kinder ein tolles Erlebnis. Die fahrt zur Rosenburg und wieder nach Hause ist auch toll gewesen. Denn es hatte am diesen Tag ein bisschen geregnet und da durch stieg der Nebel auf denn die Burg steht auf einem Felsen und ringsherum der Wald das war wunderschön. Der Preis für das Ritterfest ist nicht Schlimm Kinder können gratis und die Erwachsene zahlen 15€.

Ob der auf der Rosenburg abgehaltene Christkindlmarkt der romantischste Niederösterreichs ist, wie dies auf der Homepage angekündigt ist, wie möchte ich nicht beurteilen. Indiskutabel ist jedenfalls, dass dieser Christkindlmarkt wie auch andere in Niederösterreich - anders als bei unzähligen Märkten z.B. auch in Wien und Salzburg - ein Eintrittspreis für den Besuch verlangt wird.

Die Rosenburg ist wirklich ein ideales Ausflugsziel mit Kindern. weniger als 1 h von Wien entfernt mit einem super guten Kletterpark (Altersgruppen 5 Jahre bis für Erwachsene). Am Wochenende gibt es eine sehr beeindruckende Greifvögelshow...Falken, Uhu, Geier...wirklich toll. An speziellen Wochenenden gibt es Ritterspiele usw. Das Restaurant neben dem Schloss ist ebenfalls sehr gut und hat am Sonntag ein Mittagsbuffet.

Abbiamo visitato il Castello di Rosenburg in Agosto 2014 e la visita è stata molto interessante. Non conosciamo bene il tedesco e la guida è stata molto disponibile e gentile, facendoci seguire da una collega, in quel momento non al lavoro, con una eccellente spiegazione in inglese. La visita si è poi conclusa con l' esibizione dei falconieri...... BELLISSIMO vedere questi magnifici animali all' opera, proprio sotto i nostri stupiti occhi !!! Luogo sicuramente da consigliare!

Wir sind regelmäßige Gäste der Rosenburg, anfangs über die Mittelalterverantaltungen, mittlerweile haben wir das gepflegte und beeindruckende Ambiente schätzen gelernt und kommen auch so gerne zu diversen anderen Veranstaltungen vorbei. Die Burg ist beeindruckend gut erhalten und sehr gepflegt, der Tunierhof und der wunderbare Ausblick über das Kamptal wirklich sehenswert. Das ganze Jahr über werden diverse Veranstaltungen abgehalten - details unter http://www.rosenburg.at/. Als Draufgabe ist dann noch der neben der Burg liegende Schlossgasthof mit seinem tollen Gastronomischen Angbot und der nebenan gelegene Klettergarten zu erwähnen.

Es lohnt sich, diese Burg im interessanten Waldviertel zu besuchen, da viele Räume und Säle noch sehr gut erhalten sind. Imposant die alten Gemälde, Fußböden und Decken und die alten Kleidungen und Rüstungen. Auch sollte man eine Falknervorführung mit dressierten Falken nicht versäumen.
