We rented cars to drive from Salzburg to Hallstatt and stopped off at the lake. It was well marked and totally worth it. It is an absolutely beautiful lake and lovely surroundings. There is a great little restaurant where you can sit outside and grab a bite and a drink and a few little souvenir shops. There is also a funicular that you can take up to the top of the mountain.

It took around one hour from Hallstatt to Gosausee by bus. The lake was just peaceful as a mirror and its surrounding with mountains looked like a picutre, I spent two hours walking around the lake and enjoyed it very much.

Wir waren an einem Schlechtwettertag am See, die Aussicht war aber doch schön. Der vordere Gosausee ist ziemlich schnell zu umrunden und es gibt ein paar nette Dinge zu sehen. Unter anderem einen Klettersteig, den man mit passender Ausrüstung auch begehen kann. Einziges Manko: die Ausschilderung ist sehr schlecht. Wir wollten zum hinteren See den man angeblich in 30 min erreichen kann. Nach einer Stunde Gehzeit kam wieder ein Schild auf dem 30 min stand und so weiter. Wir sind keine langsamen Läufer aber zu dem hinteren See geht es ständig bergauf, also sollte man schon so eine bis 1,5 h rechnen. Es gibt allerdings ein Bummelbähnchen mit dem man fahren kann.

Чудесное место для любителей природы. Удивительно красивое озеро с чистейшей водой. Вокруг озера проложена тропа, неспешная прогулка займёт около полутора часов, дорога легкодоступная и совсем не утомительная, есть лавочки и места для отдыха. Прогулку можно продолжить к озеру Хинтерер, есть указатели.
