Last year I visited for the first time with my 2 girls aged 2 and 6, only expecting camels. There is so much more to this park than just camels and you will be pleasantly surprised. The girls were reticent about taking a ride last year but there were cute little ponies for them to ride instead. This didn't stop them fussing and feeding all the camels. Indeed the bags of carobs to feed them only cost €1.00 each, so definitely not going to break the bank. Despite the reputation camels seem to have on tv as unpleasant spitting animals, we found these to be pleasant and courteous, if a camel can be such a thing! My girls were very taken with them and happy to hug a head whenever it passed through the fencing. There is a small 5 d cinema although, due to the short attention span of a 2 year old, especially being distracted by so many camels, we did not give this a whirl. We did use the small amusement park which includes sit on rides and a small room of magic mirrors and a small petting zoo. There is also a play park for the children with swings etc. The trip might only have your family occupied for 2 hours if you were not pre-warned that there is a swimming pool and sun loungers for you to use at your leisure, and being Cyprus, the sun almost always shines. Luckily we had our cossies with us so were able to take a dip while we waited for our food to arrive. The food is reasonably priced and good quality. Last year I tried the moussaka which was delicious, although this year I only had a snack as we were off out to dinner later. This year my girls were bold enough to brave a ride on the camels, so as a family, myself, husband and two girls went on them while my eldest daughter, who had not come along last year, became the family photographer. Don't worry if you have no one to take your picture, the park has its own staff taking pictures which you can purchase in the gift shop at the end of your visit. If you aren't sure if you would risk a ride, my 3 year old thoroughly enjoyed the ride and laughed all the way round the short pathway you are taken on. My 6 year old found it a litle disconcerting being so very high up. As for myself, I thought it felt like riding a wonky 3 legged horse on a ship in a storm and felt a little seasick when i disembarked! Still, its one of those things you should try, even if just once in your life, just remember to wear trousers because mounting the creature with a skirt on is a very unladylike experience and you will likely flash your underwear at unsuspecting visitors! The park also has special events and evenings so it is worth checking out before you visit and you will really be able to make a whole day and evening of your trip! It was a visit enjoyed by all, even my older girl who is 20!
