Not sure why this is listed as separate from the Ancient City of Ephesus since you have to go to Ephesus to see it...and there's no missing it once you get it. Breathtaking, goose bump inducing site both when first seen from the Upper Agora and when you get right up to it.

This is the best restored building in Ephesus. Though the books are all destroyed, it is quite amazing to see the library as it would have been in its heyday.Do spend 10 minutes here seeing all the pillars and arches carefully, and spot a number of interesting inscriptions.

A 2000 year old library. A beautiful building. Those Romans are amazing and this was not even in Rome. Restored using mostly the original material in the 1960's and 70's.

A must see site that is impossible to miss in Ephesus. The original library was destroyed but the restoration work looks very impressive. Great for photos!

I can't imagine the splendor of this building when it was in use. It supposedly held 10,000 scrolls!

If the Terrace Apartments are the indoor highlight of the city, the Celcius Library is the outdoor highlight. What is there is not that large from a surface area but what remains is special and spectacular.
