Very beautiful waterfall. It is just nice to sit here and relax. Listen and watch the waterfall. It is possible to sit in a restaurant next to and still have a nice view.

An amazing place to get in touch with nature and meditate. Great way to appreciate all that mother earth has to offer. Made you want to wash away with the water fall as they tickled over the trees lick rain drops.

This would be a very nice place to visit if it wasn't absolutely covered in garbage. The dam was diverted when we were there so the river and waterfall were only a trickle and everywhere we looked there were plastic bags hanging from trees, shoes, water bottles and chip bags in the water, food scraps like corn cobs and sunflower seed shells all over the ground, etc. We would not recommend this as a relaxing or pleasant visit if litter is something that bothers you. If we ever go back it will be with plastic gloves and some garbage bags.

The waterfall and area are BEAUTIFUL. And I was there in the summer, so it was so nice to sit in the shade next to the cool water. You can literally feel the heat disappear as you walk toward the water. We even found a place where the water was coming up on the sidewalk and dipped our feet in it. It was FREEZING but felt amazing on our tired, hot feet. There are restaurants just next to it so it is nice to sit and eat and relax and just enjoy the beauty.

Great place to sit down and relax while sightseeing Tarsus. The waterfalls have two restaurants built adjacent to it on opposite sides. I’ve eaten at the restaurant on the Tarsus side a couple times. This restaurant does not have a menu. If you’re in a large group normally they bring out a tray of three entrées and limit you to select one of three choices of fish, chicken shish, or kabob. But if you know the names of other Turkish food you should have no problem ordering something different, as we did. Some of the staff speaks broken English and might be able to assist in communication. The hummus here is one of the best and it’s one of the few places that will put a jerky type of meat on top, plus adorn it with pickle slices be cautioned this does cost a tiny bit more than regular hummus! To use the restrooms here you will have to pay 1 Lira, and if you’ve parked your own car an attendant will try to wash it and marshal you out and will expect a tip. The waterfalls themselves were technically man made. In roman times they tried to reroute the river. When they released the water it flowed to this current spot which is an old necropolis! If you look into the waterfalls themselves you’ll see that there are remains of tombs and sarcophagus’. Depending on the season the water flow alters, and may block your view of the ruins. Many locals hang out here because it has a nice little park built in with bridges allowing access across the river. In the middle are numerous shade trees, picnic tables, and a large statue of a man playing a “Sut” (turkish Guitar). It’s not uncommon to see men napping by the water, or boys fishing and swimming, and large groups of women sitting together.

This waterfall is unique because it is the only historical waterfall in the world. This waterfall did not exist before 6th centry until the way of Berdan river was changed to protect city from floods. This waterfall was the necropol - graveyard of the city in the rocks, then it became the waterfall.

Tarsus Şelalesini biz çok zor bulduk. Şehrin dışında olmalı diye tahmin ettiğimizden belki de, ancak şehrin içine gizlenmiş. Şelale Otel diye aradağınızda daha kolay bulabilirsiniz, hemen kıyısında otel. Burası Şelale diye bir tabelası yok, restoran var iki tane. Otoparkına girdiğimiz için mecburen o restoranda saç tava yedik, unutulmaz diyeceğim bir lezzet değildi, şalgam suyu da kötüydü, ayrıca WC rezaletti. Yemek yerseniz 2 lira, yemezseniz 5 lira otopark ücreti, çok komikti. Şelalenin yanında oturmak keyifliydi sadece. Manzara güzel, bol bol fotoğraf çekebileceğiniz bir mekan Tarsus'ta.
