Ok, this tour was great, but I wish the website had prepared us for what we would do. Stating you should be in good shape, wear closed toe shoes, and you'll get a jumper doesn't really let you know that you'll be fitting through spaces you didn't think possible. I'm not a big guy (5'9, 160), but I was definitely not convinced I was going to fit through some of the spots. These aren't just little holes, but entire pathways where you are doing your best to suck it in. Also, be prepared to invest some time. The tour states 2.5 hours, but that doesn't include the transportation, paperwork, etc. It was closer to 5 hours point to point. Though the brightside is that you actually get like 2.5 hours in the cave.

Whil staying in Budapest I saw an brochure for caving in Budapest, and thought, "why not?". I asked my hostel to book me on the tour the next day.I met our tour guide at the Nguyati ter Railway Station. From there we caught 2 local buses out to the caves (so make sure you have 4 bus tickets to get there and back).Once at the caving headquarters we were given jumpsuits, helmets, and torches for our caving (wear good sturdy shoes that you dont mind getting filty). As soon as we started walking into the cave the walls got tighter and tighter, and the ceiling lower and lower. I was expecting it to bee a tight squeeze but what I was not expecting was to be lying flat on my stomach, arms in front of me, edging my way through gaps so tiny I could not move my head around to see where I was going. It was TIGHT! So tight that lying on my stomach the walls were touching every side of me (if you are overweight I think you would find this very difficult). It was extremely hard work, and definetley not for anyone who feels even the slightest bit claustrophobic.I enjoyed it immensely. It was very hard work, and downright frightening at times, however we all felt a great sense of accomplishment at the end. It was something completely unique, and gave you a new perspective on the thermal baths in Budapest (the caves were caved out by the thermals springs). I recommend this for everyone who loves adventure sports, and wants a challenge.
