we booked a afternoons wine tasting here at the faust and omg it was amazing, deep within the grounds of the hilton hotel you find this lovely little cellar with knowledgable and friendly staff, we had 6 bottles of wine to taste and some nibbles with it and were told a little of the info about the wineries where the wines were from and afterwards were able to purchase wine to take home which we did . the wines sold here are not available to buy in the supermarkets and wel worth tasting. all in all it was a lovely way to spend an afternoon and would recommend to anyone though i suggest you book in advance as its a very popular place to visit

We reserved our place online before arriving in Budapest. Glad we did as this is a small, intimate venue and you can't guarantee a place if you just turn up, but if they have room they will gladly accommodate you. Located in a cellar below what was once a cloister, it is very atmospheric. Warm welcome from the husband & wife team. We had booked a red wine lovers tasting and thoroughly enjoyed it. All Hungarian, the tasting started with lighter wines, worked up to full bodied and ended with a fortified wine. 8 wines in the tasting. At the end you have a choice of a whole glass of your favourite from the tasting or the option to sample another wine. The sommelier was attentive, informative and friendly. There was a small basket of cheese scones/bread bites and water included in the price. No obligation to buy any additional wines.We like wine, so took our time enjoying each sample and asked questions. Our tasting therefore lasted nearly 3 hours. The average time is around 2 hours.

We booked a tasting in advance and walked the exciting way to the cellar. Gabor was so enthuasiastic and cunning about the wines and both he and his wife were so charming. We tried 5 wines in 2 hours and it was a perfect start on the night. This is a must if you visit Budapest, we will be back.

We booked on line about a week before our visit after reading some great reviews and we were not disappointed . It is very well priced compare to some of the other wine tasting i looked at. Its easy to book, you just pay a small deposit and receive email confirmation and directions. Its very easy to find. We did the red wine lovers tasting, 9 wines, you call back your favourite at the end and the cheese scones are lovely too. Gabor is very knowledgable and makes you feel very welcome. A great way to spend a few hours in romantic surrounding, the cellar is beautiful. We would visit again definitely.

Big conference in Budapest. Never been before. Wanted to do something Hungarian which involved a couple of drinks with a few friends from other countries. Read about this and booked for a small group. Very awkwardly, a whole load of other people at the conference, senior types who are used to having everything organised for them, seemed to behave as if they were coming. I couldn't say no, so rang the Faust people. They couldn't have been more accommodating. It's not a huge place at all, but they very kindly catered for 18 of us (I think), at very late notice, served us lovely wines (with a few nibbles) and were absolutely charming and informative. Atmospheric cellar in old medieval building underneath the Hilton. It started quite early, and lasts for a couple of hours or so, if I recall correctly. Seemed very reasonably priced. Went across the road for some goulash afterwards. Lovely evening, lovely people. Do it!
