I lovely walk around the harbour to The Giantess in the Mountain can be fun for adults and expecially children. Just above is the start of a cliff path.

Lovely to see, hidden within Kevlavik Harbour.Such a quirky idea, hilarious too, stay a while and you will find out why.... might be a little scary for the younger children.Look through and see the Giants feet And hear his laboured breathing and snoring. Just brilliant. Climb up on the plinth for further views of the sea. Free entrance too. Just made me smile....

I went there with two foreign friends who came for a visit to Iceland. They wanted to experience some adventures with trolls and elves. I was afraid it would be to childish for them, but they enjoyed it very much! They laughed at the funny noises that came from the giant troll and they thought the troll and the cave were well worth the visit! Her giant bed and christmas tree with funny decorations was curious. This quick visit to the "skessuhellir" or cave of the troll was a hit! And it is a free entrance! From the cave is a nice view over the harbour and close by is a nice restaurant Duushus!

IT's for kids but it's good to go and see and laugh at all the weird giantess' noises. Just two minutes form the harbour ,nice view of the sea.Free entrance

Stopped in to meet the Giantess before our flight, but she was asleep. We quietly poked around her home so as to not wake her. Most of the signage is in Icelandic and we weren't familiar with her origin story, but it's sort of a sweet place.

We went for a last walk in Iceland before flight back home. Keflavik is nice city with walk along the sea. The Giantess was a suprise at the end of path. We were firs looking around what is there( we heard heavy breathing) before we see through window :).

Quirky is the best description I've seen for this so far. It's just below the Hotel Berg so it's a quick walk and something to include in your stroll around the place. I can't pretend that I consider it a "must see" but it would certainly entertain the kids!

We had to visit this cave as it sits just below the Hotel Berg where we were staying.Follow the giant footprints if you dare and as you sidle in through the door, you are aware of a huge snoring, farting figure in a rocking chair in the kitchen.Hilarious

I loved the Giantess, she is so friendly and her burbing and farting is a lot of fun to listen to :) A beautiful place by the harbour with a great view.

The Sisters spied this moss-covered cave/hut from our window seat at Duus then our server told us it was a Troll House used to entertain/scare children. "Double dog dare" and we were off. The paved walk to the entrance was slippery with rain but not a problem. Skessu was not only a Troll but also a Giantess, sitting in her rocking chair behind bars with a padlocked door. (Why bother with a creature her size?) It was damp, dark, filled with gloom but this is what Trolls love (read your Icelandic Trolls/elves, fairies lore before visiting). Our presence activated LOUD noises related to bodily functions. Funny but worth our time.
