If you visit Cres, (easy to get to by ferry from Istria or the island of Kirk) don't miss this little village. It's not in the guide books and not even on some maps! There is a campsite nearby and the town itself has a few restaurants and accommodation. Superb setting.

This was one of the best holidays of my life. What a magical, beautiful, unspoilt, peaceful place. Eagles soared above us as we looked out at the turquoise sea across olive, fig, apricot and cherry trees. No litter, ancient hilltop stone villages. Old ladies selling honey and olive oil by the roadside. It is like going back in time and I hope with all my heart this stunning scenery is preserved as more and more people discover it. Reminded me of holidaying on a Greek Island but 40 years ago. I'm so grateful to have seen it!

Cres Island is one of those hidden places we visted out of Season and it was great! The island itself is lovely great views and the locals are really freindly! There are some really lovely views to be seen in Cres. We stayed for 5 nights and each night we found a great bar and a great restaurant - just keep exploring and youll find some great hidden places!

This is a slice of heaven on earth. We have been here twice in the last two years. Peaceful, beautiful on the Adriatic Ocean an that is our idea of paradise. We stay at a cozy hotel with 8 rooms where we have a total apartment for less than $80 a night. Walking distance to wonderful cafes and a large variety of foods from pizza to wonderful sea bass dinners. The beaches are not sandy but are somewhat rocky and beautiful aqua warm waters. We love to sit in the outdoor coffee shops and watch the ships come and go. There is a daily ferry boat that you can take to a few larger cities for the day. If you have a car you can explore the island every day going in a different direction and visit ancient villages. Wonderful place to stay for a few weeks during the summer.

Altogether we made 15 visits to Cres island , in last 7 years twice yearly and now in May 2012. It is the most beautiful island among 1000 jewels of Adriatic sea . We explored all the island and made many hiking expeditions to Sv. Blaž , Lubenice village and two beaches below Lubenice. Beach with Blue cave is magnificent if you come there before season and after season (May, September). Otherwise the fishing boats with tourists from Cres city are too loud . Road to Lubenice village is dangerous "one way" for tourists, because domestic drivers just drive through, not paying much attention to the dangers of the narrow road between stone walls . Otherwise the sea on this part of Cres island in direction Istra penninsula is very clear and beautiful. Other part of island -toward Krk- does not have clear sea , mostly polluted from industrial zones of Krk and Rijeka city. During stay on Cres island we rent a bungalow at Crepsa agency . Employees there could learn to be more friendly toward guests , not closed up . Car ferry from Brestova brings you to Cres island, but prices warry too much every season ! Road from Porozina till parking palce above Beli village is very dangerous on some parts , but so one see archaic landscape of Cres island which has a shape of the Dragon. During our hinings on Cres we also visited Helm hill with beautiful views toward Vranski jezero (Vrana lake),. These places are really magnificent and silent . Recommended island for all who love nature , natural resorts with great bio energy for health and relaxation . Water Dragon Year 2012
