So nice to visit a place like this by chance, really magical seeing the bears up close and heartwarming to meet the volunteers doing so much for these lovely creatures. A lovely informal place to visit.

It is a way to drive, in the middle of the country side. But, worth a visit. These people, all volunteers, help these orphanaged brown bears live a decent life. There are some 800-1000 brown bears left in Croatia. None die a natural death. All human. And Croatia gives out licences to hunt upto 120 bears a year. More that 10% of the total bear population!This organisation needs our attention and our support. And it is lovely to see these gorgeous, peaceful bears.

in the middle of the country...stunning combination of love, nature, enthusiasm. We walked through the shelter accompanied by a nice volunteer from Tenerife, speaking excellent Croatian language, learned in 10 months. We enjoy watching bears playing, running, eating and performing in an incredibly humanoid way. Good choice to spend hour or two, and do not forget kids.

Love my visit here. The volunteers are very kindly and show us around and introduce the bear and the place to us. We definitely enjoy our visit here and would recommend our friend to come as well.

Beautiful place and more beautiful animals ... bears are wonderful ... if you are passing throug definitely stop and visit. You can help the volunteers to make life easier for these wonderful animals. ♡♡♡♡

This is a must do in the area! The staff are very friendly and are happy to show you around the sanctuary. There are 3 baby bears and 5 adult bears. There's no charge however donations are greatly received, all money goes to building better facilities for the bears. You can also pick up a little bear souvenir.Finding this sanctuary is pretty easy head towards kuterevo then follow the bear signs from there. Plenty of parking close by.

Wir haben die Auffangstation im Anschluss an eine Velebit-Wanderung besucht. Schon der Weg dort hin ist ein Genuss. Das ganze dort ist eine recht alternativ angehauchte Veranstaltung mit netten Leuten, die aus Überzeugung gutes Tun. Man kann kleine selbstgemachte Souvenirs kaufen und so die gute Sache unterstützen. Oder einfach spenden. Ein Hinweis : Tagsüber bei hohen Temperaturen schlafen die Bären, also besser gegen Abend vorbei schauen.

Super endroit pour voir les ours évoluer de très près, les volontaires,bénévoles vous font une visite guidée et particulière, ils nous racontent le parcours de chaque ours et vous sensibilisent sur la chasse tjs autorisée en Croatie. Ils ont des projets d'agrandissement. Un super endroit avec un super projet.
