Just another square! If you want to see the real Zagreb walk away. But it's a nice place to take photos at and winter time there is a nice stands and music.

Every European city has one and this is definitely not a stand out. It is the central spot for trams and full of overpriced retail and food outlets. Our best experiences were away from here, either up in the market and old town or down towards the main station where there is a park and mildly impressive cultural buildings. As a city there is not a lot here for the tourist (even the locals we met made similar comments).

Quite a nice square with daily public performances in summer time. I spent some quite nice moments here last summer.

It was the place where we visited 5 times at least a day. You can go everywhere from here, the trams, the bazaar, uppertown, cafes, shopping.

Huge horseman, hundreds of people, high old buildings around, nice fountain, the heart of Zagreb. You can feel what extraordinary town it is when you step on this wonderful, unforgettable square. Unique, historical, so incredible... I love Zagreb.

The square itself is pleasant, though if you look like a tourist or you stand around too much you're likely to have a man or woman come up and talk about their animal shelter and as for 20-40 kuna for a picture of an animal or a magnet. Whether or not they're actually working for a charity, I don't know, but constantly being asked for money is a bit irritating.

The large square surrounded by old Austro Hungarian building, in the middle of the square is a monument to the great soldier Ban Josip Jelacic, an old well that was converted into a fountain. The lack of the ugly advertisements that are placed around the square

They also call it the main square. All you might need during your stay in Zagreb can be found here, from the Tourist Office to shops, eateries/restaurants and department stores. It is also the entrance of the Dolac market.Be careful however; trams constantly cross the square and the situation for pedestrians is not always that safe.

This is basically the place to be in Zagreb. It's especially the place to be during Christmas time when it is decorated to the nines and filled with festive holiday spirit. Whether you want to shop or eat or just enjoy some people-watching, this is a must-see for the city!
