The name of the cave is "Transitional cave" or also known as God's eyes. Transitional as one can easily walk from entrance to exit and vice versa without changing the altitude and God's eyes, because there are 2 wholes on the roof that look like eyes. In a rainy day it looks like tears are falling from the eyes. Just above the cave is passing the road connecting main cities in the region. The cave is one of the unknown and hidden treasures of Bulgarian nature. Entering the arch of the cave entrance one can feel the amazing atmosphere and spirit of the cave. It is like a sacred space, which is difficult to be found. There are no signs to direct visitors. Driving from Karlukovo village towards Lukovit after 2 km on left is the House of the cave researchers. From there is one of the starting points to the cave. There you can learn more about the cave the region, also have a rest and lunch with a stunning view to the Iskar river valley.

Surrounded by 150+ million year old limestone marble quarry 3km away where near pure white stone is extracted an exported to Greek company for headstones. Rare amphibians live in caves surrounding karlukovo such an underrated place . Easily accessible from Sofia via bus or train very cheaply indeed or you can just drive well worth a visit.

From the moment you arrive at the caves the atmosphere is amazing!So glad we were shown this place by friends that live local to it. Stunning setting to explore and relax with a picnic! cant wait to go back when we are in Bulgaria again in 2015.

Удивительная пещера, созданная в результате эрозии горных пород. С потолка пещеры на вас будут смотреть два больших глаза, сделанные природой за долгие годы. Кажется что кто то сознательно вырезал их. Высота потолка около 45 метров, там же можно встретить скалолазов и альпинистов. Рядом с входом в пещеру есть закрытые для посетителей пещеры где археологи ведут раскопки. Проходя сквозь пещеру можно продолжить своё путешествие дальше по многочисленным тропинкам.
