This is an oasis of quiet, tradition and beauty in busy, crowded Moscow. It is an easy walk from Kolomenskoe metro. There are lots of places to eat and drink on the way from the metro station to the Park.

It is one of my lovely places in Moscow where the history, architecture and beautiful nature are intertwined: many objects to look at, many places to look from, souvenirs, meal... and the apple garden. Visit it in the end of August or at the first decade of September and you will be able to pluck testy apples from the trees in Moscow!

If It's not so cold for you, take a day that the sky is clear and spend all of it in the Kolo. park. You'll fell amazed by the amount of great places to visit there, the sightseeing' and all the great moments you'll have.

If you have time, Kolomeneskoye Park is a place worth visiting. The park covers a great area where you can walk around and see a few churches, including The White Column of Kolomeneskoye that was included in the Unesco World Heritage List in 1994, a reconstruction of the Wooden Palace and a viewpoint where you can see a part of Moscow city.The wooden palace, although a reconstruction of the original one, is very beautiful and what struck me most was the unusual architecture and the vivid colors. There are two ways of getting to the Park, by subway or by car. We went by car and it took us about 30 minutes to get there. As most of the tourist attractions in Russia, it is better if you hire a private tour guide, as there are usually no english signs and almost no one speaks or likes to speak in English. To be fair there were a few English signs/pamphlets inside the palace explaining about the rooms, but they are very succinct and usually tour guides know more about the history of the place. If, on the other hand, you are not that interested in history I suppose you can go by yourself.The entire visit took us about half a day, we spent one to two hours in the Palace and about two hours walking around plus the rides to and from Kolomeneskoye. Worth your time!

An amazing park. Beautiful fountains, beautiful brides walking around getting there pictures taken. Beautiful museum. If you have the time try and visit this park.

This is a nice place to visit for a relaxing day, especially in the summer. There is quite a lot to see, several churches, a palace and other historical buildings. I visited on a nice, but very cold, day so I did not explore the whole park. I did try to visit the Church of the Ascension of the Lord, which is the main attraction. Unfortunately it is not open during the winter months so I only got to see the very small museum in the basement of the church. If you have the chance to go there during the spring you might be lucky enough to see the hundreds of apple trees in bloom. There is some food for purchase on small stands around the park, but you can also arrive with your own snacks. It takes about 10 minutes to walk from the nearest Metro station, so it is easy to reach.The park itself is free of charge, but there is a fee for some of the attractions.
