Looks great, especially at night. The nice view of the city opens around too. You can see Volga, Travelling Palace of Catherine the Great and many other beautiful places.

Old though it be, this construction does a good job of getting travelers from one bank of the great Volga River to the other. It consists of a base composed of cement or stone pillars driven into the bed of the river, upon which is placed a continuous span of interlaced metal rising to two peaks. I don’t recall having seen a similar bridge in the past. Our guide could not explain how it was put together, and it could be a fascinating conundrum for someone with an Engineering background, as it does not conform to any of the 20 or so different types set out in Wikipedia. It is treated with disdain by Alexander Pushkin, whose nearby statue has his back to it, and prefers to look out over the dreary fields through which the river flows. The journey across does not offer very much except the flat landscape and the right to claim “I crossed the Volga without help from the singing Boatman"

This bridge is definitely the best place to visit in my home city. Recommended route: Starting at Zvezda cinema => Walking up the river through the City Park (800m) => Crossing the Old Bridge => following 1.2 km embankment down the river to the riverside station => returning up to the New Bridge => crossing the New Bridge to finish at Zvezda again. This will take slightly more than an hour.

Мост очень красивый, его родной брат - мост Свободы в Будапеште, есть небольшие отличия - по декоративным элементам и состоянию(( Наш покрасить не мешало-бы... Соединяет места отдыха на разных берегах Волги - городской сад с императорским дворцом на правом и пляжно-парковую зону на левом. В часы пик - пробки.

Старый мост напоминает и многие питерские мосты, и европейские. В принципе, он простенький, нет у нас сложных мостов, как в Будапеште, например или Питере. Но со стороны красивое сооружение, особенно на закате.

На это место в Твери всегда приводят туристов, получаются красивые фото, недалеко причал от которого отправляются экскурсионные кораблики по Волге.

Возможно этот мост находится в самом узком месте Волги... от одного берега до другого, где расположен технический университет можно дойти за 5 минут. На мосту в пешеходной зоне есть места для того, чтобы постоять и посмотреть по сторонам.

Мост соединяет два берега реки и две части города. С моста открывается красивый вид но реку и на набережную.

Очень красивый Старый мост. Он соединяет правый и левый берега Волги. По мосту я перешла на левый берег и дошла до памятника выдающемуся путешественнику Афанасию Никитину, побывавшему в Индии в 15 - ом веке. "Хождение за три моря" - дневниковые записи его очень интересны. Вернуться в центр можно по Новому мосту.
