If you come to Nizhny with a camera and appreciate panoramic views this is a must visit place, walkable from Pokrovka or Ilyainka street, or upstairs from Rozhdestvenskaya, approx 10-15 min downhill from the Pokrovka tram stop at ex-Aristocracy Palace aka Sverdlov Club, that`s if you go from Kremlin or 15-20 min away from Gorky square/metro station along Pokrovka then take left turn at Orlenok cinema, otherwise you take a staircase from downhill embankment Rozhdestvenskaya street at multy-colored Russian barocco Stroganov church, the latter option being good sport in sunny weather yet horrible with snow, rain or heavy wind:) Those who stay in Azimut hotel are lucky to stay right there. Some beautifully restored 16-18th century churches also look quite nice and sometimes available to visit, the neighbourhood partly consists of old Nizhny houses some of them wooden architecture. Food & drinks are available at Spar or in Ilyinka street. Summertime picnic possible right on the river bank.

A beautiful view. Rankings dont exactly speak the true picture of how beautifu the view from this place is..!! Take an everlasting walk and just enjoy the moment....

Great little walk along the embankment with fine views across the Volga.Best in the morning or late evening at sunset.

Were happy to walk here. There are beautiful views and not many people. Took lots of photos. It is also very convenient to hiking trails here descended from the Kremlin.

This is a great place to wander aimlessly and people watch. The views of the Kremlin and all those churches is awesome. Fabulous especially at sunset.

Embankment oversees the River Ship Station (Rechnoy vokzal) and conjunction of 2 rivers. Especially beautiful at sunrise and sunset.

Any time of the day you can see it. Illuminated at night and offers the best view of the oldest part of Nizhny. Great place for dating :-)

It's the must-see because exactly from here you can take great pictures of Nizhny Novgorod. There are places for resting and for spending your time enjoying the silence and fantastic views. Follow the example of Maxim Gorky. His monument is right on the embankment.

Любимое места отдыха и прогулок нижегородцев, особенно студентов. С набережной открываются красивые виды на Волгу, Оку, Стрелку, Канавинский мост, улицу Рождественнскую и Кремль. Прогуливаясь по набережной можно увидеть Рождественскую Строгоновскую церковь, зайти и осмотреть приходскую церковь Успения Божией Матери на Ильинской горе. Спускаясь по Ильинской улице к Зеленскому съезду вы увидите храм Святого Пророка Божия Ильи и церковь Казанской иконы Божией Матери.Набережная Федоровского многоуровневая с несколькими площадками и множеством дорожек.
