When I first came to Donetsk one winter several years back, this beautiful cathedral was covered in snow and lit up. I assumed that because of its very Baroque Orthodox style that it was a 17th or 18th century cathedral. I was surprised to find that in fact it is not that old a building being constructed on the site of a former WWII German Officer Cemetary and built in the 1990's. Inside the quality is amazing. I went there one sunday morning very early to take some photographs only to find it full, the old the young all together and a Gergorian choir in the gallery above. Don't miss it if in Donetsk!!

The renovation has almost been finished. It is so beautiful. Nice icons. Nice roof decoration. Phantastic atmosphere. Visit it!

Will be a beautiful place of worship, spacious (most churches in Donetsk are overcrowded), with excellent choir. Currently all the icons are covered with plastic - they paint frescs on the ceiling and the walls.

В центре города, в большом и красивом парке, находится этот духовный страж и защитник города. Колокола неустанно призывают к молитве, к памяти о Вечном. В городе возведены здания и более высокие по своей архитектуре. Но высота этого собора - особенная. В этот кафедральном соборе бывают торжественные службы, сюда стекаются верующие для поклонения православным святыням. Внутри много света, молитвенного пространства. Собор построен сравнительно недавно, но поле его духовности не может оставить равнодушным никого.

Мы в этом соборе крестили внука в прошлом году. Величественное сооружение, красивое и многолюдное во время христианских праздников.

Красивейший собор построенный в самом лучшем месте города.Внутреннее убранство собора, иконостас и иконы прекрасны.Статуя архангела Михаила перед собором смотрится очень органично!
