I visited the Vines the day after finishing my Aconcagua expedition, and it was a perfect conclusion to my trip to Mendoza. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, excellent choice of wines to taste and a perfect opening to an evening in town. For a wine lover from Europe with relatively limited Malbec experience thus far, I thoroughly enjoyed the flight and extra glass I had including all the explanations of winery management, climate and soil conditions, history of Malbec in Mendoza,.... It was great. If you're considering going to the Vines of Mendoza, stop thinking about it and just go. :)

If you're in Mendoza stop by the tasting room of the Vines of Mendoza. Great introduction to all the varietals specific got Argentina form Malbec to Toorontes and beyond. Nice way to spend an evening or pre-dinner time while learning what you didn't know!

This place was incredible. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and guided us through our tasting of wines from the Uco Valley. After our tasting, we stayed for happy hour. This lasted from 4 to 6 and they have a long list of wines to select from at half price. Not just the cheaper wines either, so the selection was outstanding!

The Vines promotes it has 200 Mendoza wines but is really a wine bar selling wine by the glass and bottle and has some tastings. We tasted 2 of the Reserve Flights - Reservas del Valle and Los Malbec Reserva, both red wines of the region. Reservas del Valle wines from Uco Valley were acidic with little flavour. Those from the Los Malbec Reserva were average quality compared to any wine tasting we had attended. We have tasted wines at a number of wineries in the Mendoza region. Most charged about half, or less, of the 330 pesos charged by The Vines and the tastings at wineries were of a markedly better quality than those at The Vines.
