small mountain town with a lot of great options to see the area. The seven lakes drive is the best but many adventure and fishing options depending on your taste. Second only to Bariloche I the region to stay

lovely town with alpine like homes. some good restaurants and nice walks. lake was windy and beautiful. Boat rides on the lake. ride from villa la angostura was lovely. nice stop for a night and walk around for a day as tour along the 7 lake route. Can take day tour RT from Bariloche (about 650p (8.7p/US$1 official or blue rate 11 to 13p/US$1)) or Villa La Angostura (about 2 hours) or take public buses. Bariloche to San Martin takes about 3 hours 40 min. and costs about US$15-$18 equivalent.

San Martin de los Andes it's a tiny town surrounded my mountain and lakes. The town is nice and cozy. Just to have a walk or go for lunch and dinner. At summer you can swim in the lake and have a beach day. The owns had a lot I'd stores, Artesanal chocolates and Restsurant. For sports you can have plenty to choose All outdoor!! It's just and amazing beautiful town.

I love SMA, for quality of life, shopping, food, restaurants and proximity to extraordinary fly fishing rivers and lakes.

A beautiful small town, next to a beautiful lake, about 1 hour away from San Carlos de Bariloche. The tourist bus take you through The Road of the 7 Lakes (Ruta de los 7 Lagos). Excellent for travelers that like the nature, lakes, mountains, pure air.The town has very nice small shops, restaurants, etc. Excellent to enjoy a day.

We spent a night here en route from Pucon to Bariloche and wish it had been more. The people we met were very friendly and advised us of lots of things to do which we sadly couldn't as we had to move on. A vibrant, lakeside town with lots of interesting shops and good restaurants. A brief walk around the town was enough to convince us that we ought to return.

The town itself is quiet, scenic and touristy, I only spent about an hour here as part of a guided tour of the 7 lakes, so I felt the town itself was nothing to write home about. There's a central shopping street with most of the main shopping and restaurants. At the end on the banks of the lake there is a beach and you can look out at the water and high mountain sides. If you take a short route up above the town, there is a gorgeous view point of the lake and the town side by side - definitely worth a stop and you can see how gridded and well-planned the town is.

We took a trip of the 7 lakes from Bariloche to San Martin. Yellow flowers in all directions and then you see this beautiful town tucked into the end of Lake Lacar and wedged into the mountains behind. We stayed overnight in the Antares Suites (amazing) and walked the town and around the lake - just beautiful, quiet, picturesque

Just go there if you have the opportunity, walk around and savour the quiet atmosphere. Head to the beach on the lake and have a beer + ice cream
