new experience today, my first under water tunnel in South America, crossing the river Paraná and linking Paraná and Santa Fe. Guess what, it is no different than the many tunnels I crossed in Europe and the States.... Sorry

Tunel Subfluvial is a 3km tunnel which pass under the Paraná River. The toll is $13 if you go by car or motorbike, It is forbidden for bikes or walk. It was built in 1969 and is great peace of engineering. They have a guided visit where they show you a video which explains the history of this infrastructure and there's also a model of it. It is free. It worth the way of you come to Paraná and want to visit the city of Santa Fe which is just 30min away going by car.

It´s a tunnel where you travel by car and go underwater without noticing it. Maybe it´s because the sensation of being under one of the biggest rivers in the country, but the experince it´s really interesting. You should give it a try.

It is the most important attraction if you travel to Santa Fe and Parana (Entre Ríos) Argentina. It is not just going through the Tunel, but goint to the Tunel Information desk and book the excursión, which is free!. The excursión has 3 very important parts:- First they show you a very interesting video, showing how and why the tunnel was built. Then a guide (I think he or she speaks many languages, but I really do not know) shows you two banners and explains things. Then he or she asks you for questions.- Then, If you have a car, a guide get along with you straight to the tunnel and you take a round trip hearing every other detail and checking what you Heard in the video.. We did not have a car, so the crew asked for a taxi (about 15 dollars).- At the end, they show you the control room, which is very intersting. After the excursión, which is about 50 minutes long (every day from 9am to 5pm), you can go to the coast and enjoy a delicious Surubi (it is a región fish –delicious!!) watching the river.Do not miss it!
