One of few historical buildings in Cochabamba, so kind of must see while staying in the city. The convent is interesting for those, who have never seen this kind of places. Othervise, it's nothing special. When I visited it, the most important part (the Church and the tower) was closed due to works, but the guide did not inform us about it until the very end of the tour. I must say, that was a bit unplesant.

If you are in Cochabamba and understand Spanish, don't miss this tour !We had an excellent guide - Maday - who was very knowledgeable. She showed us around the convent and we enjoyed her stories about convent life and the nuns who were completely secluded from the outside world. Now there only 7 nuns left - 4 of them are over 90 years old ! The convent has its own garden and you could buy fresh leafy vegetables at the entrance. We really enjoyed going up to the roof of the convent and exploring the different parts of this grand old building.Definitely one of the highlights of our stay !

We turned up in the morning when we were told there would be English tours at 2.30pm, 3.30pm and 4.30pm. We came back, at the cost of a taxi journey, and the people told us there was no English guide available. Typical story for South America, I know, but just thought people might want to know that they might want to to give this a miss if they do not speak any Spanish.

I´m from Cochabamba and live here so I was really surprised when I visited Convento Museo Santa Teresa because I didn´t know it was this interesting!!! Not many locals know about this because for many this place had always been closed to the public but now they have opened it a couple of years ago and I just had the opportunity to go there last week. There are still many renovations being made there and they are still figuring out how to use its turistic potential, however, the history and everything that you see is fascinating. I´ve been to many amazing places in the world but never thought I had one so extraordinaire in my city. It´s a pity that the guides only do this tour in spanish but if you have the chance of found about the museum history beforehand or speak spanish, you sould go.

This was my highlight if Cochabamba. Those nuns were sneaky ... secret passages, hidden medicines, intense hierarchies. This was an incredible tour. It is all in Spanish, so if you don't speak Spanish then read up on it first so you can get some context into the way it operated / operates (the lonely planet has a section about this convent.) That way when you get shown the revolving doors you'll know what they're for...Very unique and very interesting.I didn't pay the 25 to use my camera, but I wish I had!!
