We, too, enjoyed the tour with Marcelo. His energy and excitement is contagious. You couldn't help but have a good time and enjoy the great wines!

We visited three winerys, they were all good, but MontGras was the best, Marcelo was such a great host, we had a good time and really enjoyed it. And they have the best chilean wine we tried. If you have the chance to visit MontGras, its the best place in Colchagua valley

I visited this winery about 2 hours south of Santiago, in Santa Cruz on the recommendation of a local friend. He chose this place for us because of the "make your own wine" experience. My friend and I were accompanied by my Chilean friend and his wife and the 4 of us were the only ones on the tour that Sunday. We were greeted by our host Gonzalo, who treated us to an unrushed and personal tour. We first visited the vineyard and he explained the characteristics of the various grape varieties and tasted some fresh fruit from some ornimental fruit trees. We then went into the area with the fermentation tanks and were able to taste directly from the tanks, which was pretty cool and highly unusual, compared to Conchay Y Toro where you couldn't go into the vineyard.. We then went downstairs to become master blenders. We were given a merlot, carmenere and Cabernet Sauvignon to taste and then decide on how to blend these to produce our own custom blend, along with cheese and crackers. Once perfected, the chosen blend is poured into 750ml bottles that we then corked with a manual press, capped and then labelled with a personalized label. As a bonus, we learned that the owner got his start in wine in our native Canada and there was a Canadian flag flying. A great day and highly recommended. Great location and experince. When we went into the boutique to pay he further subjected us to a blind taste test of a syrah, carmenere and a blend, with the correct answer scoring a cork screw. A great afternnon for only 30,000 peseos each.

We had a tour and did a unique blind tasting activity on our private tour. It was a fun way to taste many of their wines and discuss their differences. Excellent and gracious English-speaking tour guide.
