This museum is set in an old wooden house that the remains of 32 or more bodies where found. Buried here and some mummified between 5000 & 3000 BC. The Chinchorro people lived in northern Chile and Southern Peru during this period. The Museum has a wonderful glass floor so visitors can get up close and personal with the skeletal remains and their burial artifacts and offerings. An audio guide is freely available in Spanish, English & German. On the2nd floor information on Arica, it's flora & fauna can be found together with some facts on the Chinchorro people & their lifestyle. Entrance is $2000 ChP for adults and $1000 ChP for children.

Este museo es increíble, se trata del hallazgo de un cementerio chinchorro en medio de la ciudad, el cual se muestra cubierto por un piso de vidrio que permite apreciar a cabalidad la excavación arqueológica. La visita permite entender mejor la cultura Chinchorro, apoyándose por medio de un audio guía gratuito (previo pago de la entrada de 2000 peso chilenos) que relata la historia del museo y los hallazgos que se observan en él. Realmente vale la pena visitarlo, ya que es una experiencia súper interesante.
