OMG! This was the BEST waterfall ever during our 8-day trip in the Chapada. No pictures can explain the feeling of having to finish the trekking in the water, swimming through the canyon. Absolutely amazing. I can't believe so many people go to Chapada and do not see this because "too far down from Lençois". Here is a suggestion: move round and sleep over in Igatu and Mucugê. This is avoid doing so many kilometres there/back to/from Lençois. A MUST SEE and FEEL.

I went to many places in Chapada Diamantina in this trip. Some places I visited this time, even though I liked them, I don't intend to visit them again. Cachoeira do Buracao, however, is the place to come back many many times. It is wonderful and fun! I had never been in a place like that.

It is not located in Lençois and you need a tour guide to enter the park. However, it is the great experience I had when visiting the area.

The most beautiful waterfall which I have seen. Swimming through the canyon you suddenly see the waterfall and can even swim very close. The canyon is so amazing.

A must-go place. If you are staying in Lencois, you will need 2 days. It is so beautiful that I recommend not to go first, or the other attractions will look not so attractive.

It is worth trekking to Buracao Waterfall. It is a very high waterfall and there are flotation life vests included in the admission fee. You can only go there with a guide, what makes the trekking far more secure. It is very refreshing to have a bath there.

The most stunning waterfall we met in our week at Chapada. Do not miss!

Quite far away from other towns, easier to go from Mucuge

It was probably the most stunning scenery I have ever seen in my life. It was a hassle to get there though but definitely worth it. We drove from Lençois to Mucuge and stayed the night there. The highway was really dark and scary so I don't recommend driving during the night, I found very dangerous. The next morning we drove to cachoeira do Buracao, we had to walk for about 1 hour to finally get there. The waterfall is unbelievable, you don't imagine to find such a thing while you're walking in the middle of a deserted flora. This is a MUST!

Incredible! Forget about the queues that you have to stand when you visit Iguazú falls or Machupicchu, at Buracao you can really feel surrounded by nature in its strongest expression!!
