This time, I went to Playa Mero. You can get there in 15 minutes by boat from the port in Tucacas near GNB (Guardia Nacional Bolivariana).Don't forget to tell the boatman the time of return. You can see so many fish by snorkeling. Also you can enjoy fishing. You can purchase snorkeling goods in Tucacas. Also you can purchase some of fishing goods. But I recommend that you bring your fishing tackle. And of course, you can relax on the beautiful beach.

This is one of the most beautiful beaches (islands). I've been to several islands within Parque Nacional Morrocoy and they are all breathtaking. Very secluded if you go during the week. With the exception of one island, you must take a boat to get to any of the others. Worth it! Gorgeous.

My beautiful Venezuela, it is going through a period of change but one day, not too far, it will be the beautiful jewel that once was… These beaches are the best, the water is so clear and warm the sand so white and fine, it is the best…

Been there a couple of times, gorgeous islands and beaches. Not very touristy, that is way I loved it so much. Do not expect fancy restaurants or accomodation, just enjoy this paradise.

Well I'm a local. I've lived almost my whole life in this part of the country. I can openly say that beaches as beautiful as these you can't find thru the mainland coast of Venezuela nor even in Margarita island. I can only advice you to read other visitors comments and decide for ur self. You are most welcome in Tucacas, morrocoy nation park isles. My Kik onlydawah feel free to contact me. ☺ God bless!

Beautiful & calm isles excellent for families. I could say I've been to Paradise! Recommend to make a tour by boat around all the isles and enjoy the nature.

This park is beautiful with multiple mangrove islands. It has a high diversity of exotic birds and marine life. Beaches are excellent and Cayo Sombrero has some of the best. It is a very relaxing atmosphere where one can rent a tent on the beach, enjoy fried fish and plantain for lunch, and swim in calm crystalline waters all day. It is best to visit in mid week.

Just a few minutes away from Chichiriviche, the Cayos are great. The water is blue and the sand is almost white. You need to catch a boat to get there, but there are many options. I visited a few of the Cayos, certainly Sombrero was the nicest. It improved our general opinion after the disappointment from Chichiriviche...

Morrocoy is a nice place to visit but your experience will depend upon having at least some good advice or a helpful local guide. We were very fortunate on this visit that we were invited by friends who have a Yacht and know the area beaches very well. We were able to visit several beautiful beaches. Playa Aleman was a great little beach to spend the day with the family. We stayed in a local hotel in Tucacas and there were lots of people trying to get you out to the beaches via boat and with a little research you can figure out which beaches you would like to visit. You definitely need to plan for shade and sunscreen if you are sensitive to the sun at all. The sun is intense. I am writing this review more for any expats that may be inclined to visit the area. Other things to note:- Snorkeling can be fun but the coral is mostly dead at this point. You can still see some fish and there are some areas where the water is very calm and make for a great way to introduce snorkeling to younger children.- There are some really cool birds including pelicans and scarlet ibis to keep an eye out for. - We also spotted a sea turtle in the open water- The calm waters around Morrocoy were great for me and I didn't get seasick at all while traveling around from beach to beach. - Security is always a concern for most of us in Venezuela so you definitely want to be wary of that around Tucacas. We tried to be back in the hotel by 7:30 but there were plenty of people out and about on the streets. Lots of National Guard were on the streets during the day and the main street had a very active market place. Plenty of swimwear and beach products available for decent prices. - The mosquitoes were particularly bad around and after sundown so put on repellent before sunset. - It definitely seemed ideal on most beaches to bring an ice-chest with drinks. Some options for the local fish lunches were available on many beaches. Fruity drinks, fresh sea food, and ice cream were being sold on the water at several beaches. Other Recommendations for expats:- If you don't speak Spanish well travel with someone who does- If possible go with someone who has been there or find a local guide- Bring cash (local currency). The bank situation was rough in Tucacas with the atm machines removed from one bank and being remodeled in another at the time of our visit. We walked from one end of the street and then down a few blocks to visit the one bank with working atms just to find out that it was out of service. Even though it is dangerous to carry a lot of cash you are going to need it so plan ahead!

Had a Great time over here. The beaches were kept very clean. Umbrellas and chairs provided at 120Bs. The water was warm and beautiful! Caught the boat to the island at Tucacas. 500 Bs to get there and back.
