I was in Colombia with 5 friends to celebrate a wedding and we wanted to visit a coffee farm. We looked in the Lonely Planet, but it only offered two options, and we didn't want to be drawn in a crowd of tourist. We did some further research, and this is when we randomly came upon the name of Tio Conejo. We exchanged a few emails with Angela and Ivanov, the owners of the farm. They offered to pick us up at our hotel in Manizales, drive us to the farm, give us a private visit, let us try their coffee, serve us an home-made lunch, and drive us back again for 60,000 COP (30 USD). We decided to give it a try. What a great decision !The time we spent at their farm was truly wonderful, and it will probably remain as the best experience of our time in Colombia! Angela, Ivanov and their adorable daughter Emilia are welcoming, fun, and extremely knowledgeable. They spent a lot of time showing us all of their secrets and answering our questions. We spent the day walking around in a beautiful landscape, picking and eating fresh fruits right from the trees, drinking great coffee as well as home-made lemonade.We then sat in their house for the best lunch I have had in a long time, with dozens of delicious home-made dishes: cooked black bean in thick sauce, fried yucca, plantain pancakes, guacamole...If you want to visit an authentic farm, in a fun and homy environment, go for Tio Conejo !

During my trip in Colombia with a friend, we stayed like two nights in Manizales in order to visit a coffee farm or "finca" like they say in spanish.By chance we find a flyer of Cafe Tio Conejo, and we choose to go there.This was by far the best choice we ever made during our trip in Colombia and also the best day we have spent. The owners are incredibly kind, and funny. Their farm is so calm and so beautiful, they are really passionated, so when they talk about coffee, we really feel that they know everything about it. They take time to explain and show you in action every process, and they also take time to answer all your questions.The owners make you feel really special, as they give you more a "private" visit than a "factory" one.I also enjoyed eating with the family, very good and funny moment that i won't forget.Everyone is so kind, from the workers to the family.I loved it so much that now i am living in their farm without the owners knowing it, and i eat all their bananas and oranges (private joke)If you are looking for a coffee farm to visit around Manizales, THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE!!!One love to you Ivanov and all your familyi really hope to see you soon.

I had the chance to stay for a week in the farm, thanks to the hospitable owners of the farm. I was allowed to stay for a week and experience the tranquility of the place, amazing sunsets, native birds and the clear nite skies to see the stars.I hope to come back, I did arrive by myself to the place using the public transportation and walk the way up and to find the coffee farm. It was a learning experience and be able to see how coffee beans are grown in Manizales.

We were shocked by the prices of other tours elsewhere and although this one wasn't cheap the lovely owner , Angela, gave us the most fantastic value for money in terms of expert knowledge and advice that went far beyond anything we could have expected. We were cooked a delicious lunch and enjoyed meeting her charming family and friends. Every question I asked had an intriguing answer and it was the most beautiful scenery. Fully recommend visiting.

Café Tío Conejo, no solamente es un lugar de producción de café, es un lugar de producción de sueños, Ivanov y su familia te tratará de manera excelente, no será solamente ver como hacen su trabajo, te hacen participar de su labor cotidiana, te muestran lo hermoso que puede ser el trabajo de campo, además de que podrás ver un proyecto realmente trabajado de mano con la academia, un café exquisito, ademas de contar con muchos plus que harán su costo realmente barato, recomiendo este lugar mucho por que fue mi mejor parte en Caldas.A. Vinnicenal
