This museum houses a large collection of art by the famous Colombian artist, Luis Alberto Acuna. Master Acuna was a prolific artist of the Bachue school who painted themes surrounding the mysticism of the Colombian indigenous peoples. He was a contemporary of Diego Rivera and Pablo Picasso who both encouraged him in this work. The house holds many of his paintings, sculptures, tapestries, ans large murals painted on the inside walls. Many museums such as the National and Banco de la Republica museums in Bogota have some of his works. The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art also has a large collection. The museum is on the main plaza and also has a lovely shop run by his daughter. The entrance fee is nominal.

An interesting mix of personal effects makes this museo different. It only takes about 20 minutes to the rooms; worth the time. Entrance in about $2.00.

Liked some of the pictures, found others a bit odd, especially liked the courtyard where the artist had done his own thing with some amazing murals and some of his sculptures were on display.

interesting break while in town. good diversity of paintings and sculpures. not much else but he was a great painter

Beautiful house and beautiful paintings. Main patio and its murals and sculptures is one of my top favourites in Villa de Leyva.

He was an OK painter in the 1930s and 1940s, but most of the work here is from much much later. Don't think this is the best he (or Colombian art) has to offer.

It' s an interesting place to see Mr. Acuna work, such as some unknown sculptures and painyings, as the old Indian groups living in Colombia mithology gods...Not usual to find this elsewhere.

me gusto mucho la experiencia de estar en este museo, gran atención un buen lugar para estar en familia sus cuadros pinturas esculturas un gran espacio natural para convivir e familia o con su pareja y amigos me gusto estar en este lugar es magnifico ...

Un lugar precioso lleno de obras de arte, instrumentos antiguos y se crean momentos inolvidables en su patio central, cuando realizan conciertos en el atardecer. Recomendadísimo.
