This park is next to the Plaza Mayor where the 4th World Bicycle Forum was held. The "bambusal"(bamboo grove) is a wonderful touch, and the sand to walk through was inviting. A great idea!

Easy to get to, this barefoot park is really for children to come and play during the weekends. It can get very crowded and make sure to keep an eye on your shoes and belongings while playing in the sand and water.

It is a casual place for encounters and an oasis for mental and physical relaxation. The open air public space combines both architectural man made spaces with connecting tree filled extensions of the park. It offers visitors, travelers and citizens alike the opportunity to walk barefoot around the sandbar edges of the water-fountains or meditate in the zen garden complete with live bamboo.

Basically a park for kids, there is a little bamboo around and walking trails that are sandy, so you can walk barefoot. That's about it

It is good to see Medellin having good urban planning and putting a park in the downtown core. This is around lots of large office buildings and serves as a haven within the city. Great job to the city planners.

Man! From some of these reviews, you'd think this place was nirvana or something! Please keep your expectations in check: this is a very average park with some bamboo and touchy-feely comments about reconnecting with the earth. Really not anything out of this world. TIP: There are several different "sites" of this park, which makes getting to it overly-complicated, since people on the street will each direct you to a different "site." Be prepared to get lost a little. TIP: FREE CLEAN BATHROOMS ON SITE. But, they're a bit hidden: go down the entrance next to the ATMs.

Lovely place that reminds to get in touch with water and Earth again. Not a waterpark or fancy park, it only has two or three pools and you are only allowed to put your feet in. It is not for the children to play, only the "chorritos", people are not allowed to wear their swimming suits, shorts and shirts must be worn at all times. If you speak Spanish do take the guided tour (free) and learn what the park is meant to. Plan to take extra clothes if you do get wet. Have lunch or a snack in the restaurants if going on weekends do plan to go early to avoid crowds. Do watch your belongings since it is located in a not so safe area of the city. If you go by Turibus, better yet since you have time for pics and a quick visit.

This park was a bit disappointing. I read all of the reviews here on tripadvisor, but I felt misled. When we arrived, we saw a giant sand box with a water spray park. I was expecting a park for adults with different sights. However, this is just a park for kids to play in for the afternoon. If you have a lot of time in Medellin, check it out. If you're on a short trip, skip it.
