With a few hours to spare in Leticia, we decided to visit Mundo Amazonica. Not having any knowledge or expectations prior to the visit, I wished I had been able to spend more time there. The owners have spent many years creating a beautiful park displaying a wide variety of plants from the Amazon, obviously a labour of love. Our guide, the son of the owners, was extremely knowledgeable and took time to explain the uses of the various plants and their habitats. They are working with local schools to educate students and teachers about the flora and fauna of the area and to encourage recycling and reusing. Most definitely well worth an extended visit.

This park is a perfect way to begin your adventure in the Amazon. We had a great English speaking guide who helps run the place. The place used to be a cattle grazing area, but the founding family has repatriated the area with the local flora and fauna of the Amazon. Our guide was able to teach us about the diffferent plants, flowers, trees, and soil that we would experience over the course of our trip. I especially liked learning about the medicinal properties of the Amazonian plants. My husband enjoyed practicing shooting an indigenous blow gun used for hunting. The place was beautiful and so informative. Everywhere we went in the Amazon after going to this ecological park we spotted the same trees and flowers -- and knew what we were looking at. Definitely go here before you head anywhere else.

My trip to Mundo Amazonico exceeded my expectations. Me and my girlfriend went without knowing that much about the place. English speaking guide was also the son of the founder and ran the tourist part of the reserve. He was extremely knowledgeable about the plants and animals. It was easy to see he really cared about preserving the Amazon and educating people. Lunch was included and good and some of the food was grown on the grounds. It is a must for anyone who travels to the Colombian Amazon and wants to learn and contribute to its preservation.

The park affords a great diversity of plant specimens, wildlife, activities and even a visit to a tribe's patriarch. Our tour included lunch which was very good and transportation. However, I think 2-3 hours would have been sufficient time spent there enabling time for local excursions.

Excelente lugar. Volvere algun dia.Auto-sostenible, Ecológico, Educativo. un recorrido lleno de Diversión y Diversidad. Recomendado al 100%, si viajas a Leticia Amazonas pásate por Mundo Amazónico. I had just a weekend to travel to Amazonia from Bogotà, and picked this Parque Ecológico from internet. After a 3h tour in Leticia-Tabatinga on the Sat. afternoon, I stayed overnight at the Park, starting early on the Sunday with a full program, including a walk around the jungle with excellent guidance, no risks; then attended a presentation by a Uitoto-cacique for almost 1 h explaining all sorts of things about this indigenous community; then learning about all the plants/trees available in the Park (wide range of medicinal plants, fruits, trees...); then had a fantastic lunch with Amazonian fish; then had the opportunity to learn about many other indigenous communities in the area, seeing actual hunting utensils and various objects; and finally visited the fantastic acuarium organized by Dr. Carlos Tamayo, who has over 50 species of river fish and knows all about them, all perfectly clean and healthy.I learnt plenty about the region in just 24h, now I am still looking at my pictures trying to digest and enjoy all the experiences...Excellent staff, very safe and nice environment, I could recommend to anyone.Mundo AmazónicoRecorridos ecológicos.

We did this on our first day and loved it. We saw so many beautiful different flowers and types of fish. We learned a lot. I would highly recommend this.

Sadly I only found out about this place on my last day. I wish I had gone here first. They are doing fantastic work here trying to teach the local people about recycling and more sustainable farming practices. They are working with the local schools trying to influence behaviour. I was so sad in leticia where I witnessed such land degradation and garbage and the most popular tours are absolutely cruel to the animals. This place gave me a little glimmer of hope that all is not lost. Please go here before you go to any other tours. It is beautiful. It is so interesting and there is fun to be had with the blow gun and bow and arrow I learned more here about the area and the local people in a few hours than during my whole stay in leticia.

This is a great place to needs more attention from maybe the goverment or ONG. People there are working with great spirit but needs help from someone. The set up for the animals ( snakes ) needs more of any extra help. One thing for sure is that those that are working there are on their own for free and are well prapared people. The place ia about 7 kms. from the center and the " motorcar " ( tuk-tuk ) will charge you about 8,000 col pesos one way. You have to walk about 10-15 minutes in if you choose this transportation. It will take you about 3 hours if you decide to nkow and interact with snakes and plants.

Interesting, and truly a very beautiful ecological garden. But it's a garden, it's not Forest. And if you don't have seen the forest, you must go there first.
