We visited here before going to the Equator monument--this is the true equator proven by NASA scientists. The Museum is worthwhile especially with an indigenous guide. He did experiments on either side of equator to show how water drains, etc. One in our group was able to stand an egg on a nail head on the equator...now a "master of the egg". It was all fascinating and fun. We saw shrunken heads and learned about that practice. learned a lot about the indigenous people. Worth a visit

It was quite fun standing on the equator and to see all the gravity and balance differences there are around the line. It was a worthwhile experience visiting this place.

This is a great little museum which has the actual equator marked. The guides show you a few little science tricks that you can do on the equator which are interesting as well as showing you some housing etc. from the local tribes. If you are stopping into see the monument next door this is definitely worth a visit and is only $4 entry fee.

A long drive from the center of Quito for nothing. The whole thing is artificial, phoney. Don't wast your time or your money.

It was fun to take pictures on the equator, they also have lots of cute restaurants and shops! Very touristy but you have to go if you are in the area.

We did the Mitad del Mundo Tour with the Quito tour Bus company, and this was the highlight of the day, we could have spent double the amount of time here, and skipped the Mitad del Mundo. The indigenous equator line was a guided tour with English guides, it was engaging and unlike Mitad del Mundo it wasn't a tourist trap.

Tour guide explains all sections. Good background into the natural Ecuador and equator. Great fun. Learn about the Amazon, animals, people, symbols. Beautiful setting for museum

We thought this was excellent. The tour was very interesting and the demonstrations and "hands on" experiments on the equator line were big fun. Pam was able to balance the egg on the head of the nail and was awarded her certificate, unfortunately I did not master it.No visit to Quito would be complete without a visit here to the "Real Equator". Highly Recommended!

A wonderful open museum where you can complete different experiments but also learn about Ecuador's rich culture. Don't miss it!

The Intinan Museum is one of several sites where you can stand on the equator, but also is a museum reflecting some of the diversity present in Ecuador. The guide was fluent in English and knowledgeable, but also fun. The experiments were good for the non-scientists among us, me included, and were designed to inspire a little thinking, probably a good thing.
