If one had not gone to the Galapagos, the iguanas here would be fun to watch. However, they were like any other inner city creature - looking for food and climbing all over benches to get to lettuce a woman was feeding them. The turtle area seemed very over populated.

what a great park to see the iguanas roam around!! Iguanas of all sizes...on the walkway, in the trees, on the grass. Lots of interesting photo ops.

This park is beautifull, the animals over there are really easy to approach and we could even touch them (Iguanas). We recommend this place to anyone, especially with kids. There's also fish, turtles and a lot of birds. The trees are enormous and tall.

Another place to watch people enjoying themselves. The Iguanas are surprisingly large and placid. Completely habituated to people they will eat the fruit (which sellers at the gates pre-prepare for them) from your hands and even climb up you for it if you want to get up close and personal,In the shade of large palms men play cards and families play ball or sit and chat, while lovers smooch - it's a microcosm of city life, but the iguanas make the pigeons of most city squares look a bit "tame"Worth a visit - especially on a sunny day

This is quite a park! Officially known as Seminario Park, it is most famous for all the iguanas there. Look where you are walking, as they blend in with the grass and walkway... and don't forget to look UP! Yes, iguanas are in trees, and they will... well, you know...There is a sculpture of boars fighting in the park, unusual in the fact that there are no boars in Ecuador, but it was a gift from the Chinese government. Don't forget to view the beautiful cathedral adjacent to the park. It is a highlight.

Right in the center of town, we found a small park all but over-run by iguanas. By all means take a few minutes out during your tour of the city to experience this.

An iguana park. Ok. I've been to dog parks. Why not iguanas? In this poor and hot city, a park for iguanas. We managed to be there for feeding time and participated. What fun.

These iguanas rule the park. They are docile, at least to humans. People feed them, they respond like pets! They love to sleep in the trees....what a hoot! We did watch one iguana wrestle another right into the pond! What a strange place - especially after visiting the Galapagos where they tell us to stay at least 6 feet away from the animals. These reptiles never got the message - they were happy to come into our human space.

This was the highlight of our 1 night stay in Guayaquil - seeing all those Iguanas was a fun way to start our trip after nearly a full day of traveling. The park is pretty lively and there were a lot of people even though it was overcast. Stop by, even if just to walk through - though you'll be tempted to stop for a bit and take some pictures or just watch the iguanas from a park bench.
