We sailed through the Gulf on a cruise ship leaving in daylight with sunshine and a gentle breeze. Watercraft were everywhere making the most of the conditions as well as the ferries plying back and forth to Davenport and Birkenhead.Looking back to the Auckland City skyline is a sight unlike any other in NZ and the colour of the water changed hues continually. Several islands are part of this huge Marine Park that is home to dolphins, whales and birds.Absolutely stunning!

We are Aucklanders who decided to be tourist for an evening. It was a great trip, very luxurious, great food, staff were very friendly and informative and we really enjoyed ourselves. We cruised out from the harbour, spent the night at a bay in the Harbour. You could go snorkleing, swimming or kakaying or stay on the boat and relax. It was something different and relaxing and we didnt have to drive anywhere. The only negative was it wasnt long enough.

Lovely travelling across the gulf passing other boats and seeing the different islands.Went to Waiheke Island and spent a couple of hours then back on the ferry.

I would highly recommend a trip on one of the NZ America's Cup sailing yachts. Just lie back and enjoy it or take part as "crew", raising and lowering sails, and even take a spell at the helm - sailing a big yacht under the harbour bridge was very exciting!

There are marine mammals around like whales and dolphins. There lots of beautiful islands to visit too. Also a good place to fish
