Our trip to Westcoast Brewing was one of our highlights of the region! My wife and I were treated to a personal tasting/tour of all the beers on tap. It was a great deal, and each beer had character, flavor, variety and taste all it's own. This is beer made BY the community FOR the community and the care that they put in really comes across in both the taste and presentation. The brewers welcomed us in and we were able to see the community through their eyes. We felt included as friends and not just tourists. I'd highly recommend a trip to West Coast to friends!

Quite a few of the local businesses recommended the Westcoast Brewery Tour. It's just off of the main Westport high street so it was very easy to get to. We managed to get a personal tour as it was quiet at the time and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The guys were very knowledgeable and hardworking, I couldn't fault them for anything. Even the guys who were in the middle of a brew were friendly and stepped out of their way whenever we wanted to have a nosey to get us involved! I fully recommend; the best thing about the tour is you get to try up to 5 of their brews, all 5 of which were lovely! Why they aren't busier I don't know!

Not exactly Lowenbrau with the free steiny and wurst but not to be missed if you have an hour waiting for the bus or whatever in Westport. The young brewers have hit on a good recipe and are licensed to provide up to five free product samples. Impossible to resist buying a souvenir box of assorted ales after that level of hospitality.

Let me start by saying this place is so small. The great thing about that is the fact that not many people come in. Three of us went in and had our own personal guide. He not only showed us around but was so knowledgeable. The beers here were great too. I'm not a huge fan of beer, but the guy made every effort to find one that I would enjoy. This is by far the best tour that I, and the two boys who accompanied me, have ever received as far as breweries go. I couldn't recommend this place enough.

This is one of the most brewery tasting experiences I have ever had. My husband and I came in for a quick tasting and ended up staying for at least three hours just chatting and sipping beers with the brewmaster. The guys that work here are awesome and really love what they do. How can you not when what you do involves drinking copious amounts of beer?! Anyhow, the brewmaster just kept topping off our tasters and even offered to let us park our camper van at his house. The brewery may be a small place, but it's worth stopping by the place for a beer (or seven).

A great range of beers when I visited, very friendly and helpful people that couldn't do enough to help us out and answer our questions. Highly recommended if you want to experience a working craft brewery in New Zealand!

I haven't done the full $10 tasting yet but I can recommend the pale ale as a real winner. They have about a dozen beers now and if they're all up to this standard then it's a fine achievement. Well done.
