Fantastic experience. The power of the sea is overwhelming. The pathways are well made up and the viewpoints excellent. And it is free.

Ten out of ten, what an awesome place to visit, its free and its beautiful. Be prepared to walk a little, not a tough walk though, the view is amazing and the blowholes are fantastic. Take your camera!!

Gorgeous, especially at high tide when the blowholes are visible. Well worth a stop for this stunning view over the rocks and down the shoreline.

With ample parking, pancake cafe and a cafe and gift shop this is a well run attraction. A short round trip walk of about 15-20 minutes to see the layered pancake rocks. Stunning. Then be fascinated with the blow holes as the sea crashes in and splashes up the rocks for an amazing photo opportunity. Best viewed at high tide for better effects. Good walkway except just 5 small steps near the middle. Not to be missed

One of the sites recommended on many New Zealand tour guides is the Pancake Rocks. We found them quite interesting and worth stopping by on your way somewhere. We took plenty of photos and enjoyed the walking paths while there, but the rocks as a destination on their own was not my ideal idea of a destination.
