The track is a easy walk for the most part, we had a baby buggy with us that we got right down to the beach with but we did have to carry it the last 150 meters down the rocks and stairs. For a free walk it is one of the better maintained walks I have used in the last 12 months. Go at low tide and you can get down on to the beach, at high tide I don't think you could get to the beach or be safe on it. Nice easy walk with good views at the end, 15 minutes each way.

Never been to such a beautiful beach with forest up the edge. It was a huge highlight. see it in our video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTq7WmDyqFg

Anyone driving around New Zealand knows that if you ever want to make it to your destination, you can't stop at every attraction along the way. DO THIS ONE. It's a short walk to the beach, which is not sand but small rocks and pebbles. The layered rock formations (especially the little caves where the water has carved away the rock) are really cool.

A lovely short (circa 30 mins return) walk through the bush (with interpretation of all the amazing subtropical trees and bushes) to the seashore where you can walk down steps (not at high tide) and explore the caves in the two little coves.

This was situated close to where we were staying and provided an enjoyable trek from the treehouse to the dramatic coastline.

Walking from the Rocks Homestay, there is a shortcut through the jungle/forest area that connects to the beach. The walk only takes about 5-10 minutes and the beach will be in sight. Remember to bring bug spray as there are TONS of sandflies waiting to feast on your limbs.

You walk through the rainforest even to get to the beach. There's a beautiful view at the top of the stairs and a short climb down to the beach. The rock overhangs and outcropping sport beautiful colors. I particularly like that the beach was tiny pebbles that do not cling to you like sand. The tide is very strong here so no swimming.

This track goes through rainforest, with signs to help you identify various trees and shrubs, and ends at the beach. The vegetation is amazing enough, but if you walkfor a bit along the beach you get to a big cave, and many interesting geological features. This is a short walk, you won't need more than 1.5 hours to explore everything. Parking is limited, but we found a space even during high season.

The track to the beach is pretty, but it's about the destination. Small stone of many colors, large boulders scattered about, waterfall off the cliff...go at low tide.

This is something that is easily missed. We decided to take this little track towards the sea after we had enquired about going for a walk. THe track is not long, but the short walk takes you through such differing flora and fauna, before you realise it you are on the cliff edge looking out to sea. The path takes you down to a beach where the sign says that penguins cmd ashore in the evening to shelter. An ideal short trek for a family or for the not so fit
