If you're up at the Gondola take a walk in this pleasant little track through the forest. Take a jacket as the temperature drops quite a bit in the shade. Good views through the gaps in the trees.

Walked to the summit of Ben Lomond while in Queenstown recently. Most of the terrain is quite easy, with a more challenging climb over the last 45 minutes. Well worth the climb for the view at the top.

Take the gondola up, cross the luge track, and go up. This is a long climb over well maintained paths through the forest and above the tree line. The reward... .a most beautiful view over Queenstown, the lake, and the mountains across a 270 degree horizon. One is exposed to the elements so if there is thunder and lightening be careful. But, if the weather cooperates, there are few views like this in all of New Zealand.

The walk is rewarding ONCE you reach the top. The only downfall is the use of directions , I had to look for trees with red arrows on them to take me the correct way. Let's just say the day after you will be walking like John Wayne! Great hike otherwise!

A nice walk that is challenging towards the end as it gets pretty steep before reaching the summit but the view is well worth it if you can manage it. The view from the saddle is also spectacular.

Well worth the burn once your at the summit, beautiful 360 degree views of Queenstown and beyond! If you make it to the saddle definitely worth doing the final trek to the Summit
