Would recommend to go to a Sunday service (starts 1000). The singing was amazing, the warmth of the people welcoming visitors is obvious and the vibe is positive and uplifting!

One of the original churches in Raro at Titikaveka. A very warm and welcoming community with lots of visitors from all over the world the day we visited, Canada, Germany, Australia and NZ.The singing has to be heard to be believed, just awesome. We were invited afterwards to what could only be described as a feast afterwards across the road and made to feel so welcome the ladies insisted on giving all the visitors plates of food to take away with them afterwards. One of our friends had a birthday and they even sang happy birthday to her, truly a lovely way to spend a morning.. If you are in Raro on a Sunday get down to Titikaveka for the mid morning service I promise you you will enjoy it.

We loved the camaraderie with other Christian brothers & sisters in another part of the world. The music was incredible -- some of it acapella!

Visited Cook Islands Christian Church on a Sunday which happened to be a special service to commemorate service organisations (Girl Guides, Scouts, Boys Brigade), all the groups marched in behind their flags, and some of the members took part in the service. The service was mostly in CI Maori, but some parts in English. They were very welcoming to visitors. The singing by the Cook Islands was just magnificent, and all without music. It was just so wonderful, with one older lady leading the singing, and putting all her heart and soul into it. Everyone was "dressed up" in the best outfits, suits and ties, hats for the ladies with their beautiful dresses and jewellery. I was glad I had also made the effort. Our resort had a bus run to the Church, and waited for us afterwards. The service was 1 1/2 hours, followed by morning tea/lunch in the hall, with beautiful home made sandwiches, cakes and fruit platters. The locals made a point of including us in their conversations. I am just so glad we visited this church, it is an attraction without being "touristy". Please go along if you get the opportunity.

We went on a white Sunday (the first Sunday of the month) and so everyone was wearing white, which was very cool as neither of us had seen anything like it. All the ladies also wore hats. The service is all in Cook Island Maori, but the leaders made sure to welcome all the guests in English. Great singing and a church experience like no other.

What a place & the history lures you in. Many Churches around the rock but these older ones are something special
