No other place I know of ,to date, will surpass this ideal place of worship , relaxation and reflection. I've been staying at the ladies' guest house since 1997. It is my heaven on earth, a hidden gem where I can get away far from the maddening crowd and reenergize my mind, body and soul. A guest is not obliged to attend all the services of this glorious Benedictine Abbey. However, you will find yourself drawn to them because of the Gregorian chants. Moreover, a guest may , if they wish, make an appointment with one of the priests/ monks for spiritual advice. One need not be religious to ask for advice . Silence must be kept at all times . However, the grounds offer lovely walks whereby visitors and guests alike may interact . The food is fine and the rooms are small& simple. Couples are encouraged to attend ,though each partner must sleep in his/ her own separate room. Reservations must be made at least 2 -3 months prior to your arrival. Easter , September apple- picking and Thanksgiving ,being the busiest time of the year, plan to reserve at least 5-6 months ahead. You may also want to come here just for a lovely picnic on the abbey's immaculate private grounds between the two apple orchards . Bienvenue!

This Benedictine monastary was established at the beginning of the 20th century with buildings dating as early as the 1940s and as recent as 1994 with a very unique architectural style. There is a small exhibit that gives the history of the place as well as. Boutique that sells products from the monks' agricultural endeavours. Guests can also reserve accommodations ( women and men ate housed separately and there are rules in accordance with the rules of the monastary. A worthwhile stop to view the buildings, attend mass or spend a retreat.

This is a great place to visit out in the country. First, they produce awesome cheeses! Le Moine is the best! Second, it is an abbey with monks who can pray with you. Father Raymond put a blessing on our marriage and spent some time with us. The architecture of the main church is beautiful and worth the drive alone. This was not our first visit and will not be our last.

We visited the abbey on Sunday and had the opportunity to attend Mass with gredoriano chants. Moments of peace and beauty. Priests produce jams, vinegars and cheeses and it is possible to buy these products in the Abbey shop, which also has a plantation of apples, where a pick / pay works

Architecturally outstanding, religiously divine. A great place to spend quality peaceful time. St Benoit is a working Benedictine Abbey where the 50, or so, monks produce cheeses, cider, jams, spreads etc. for sale in an on-site store. There is a large orchard where apples may be picked and purchased. We were fortunate to be there at a time when monks were chanting prayers . Religious or not, St Benoit is well worth a visit for the serenity and for the cheese.. .

Was visiting Magog for first time and happened to find out about this Abby. Went during Thanksgiving weekend and the beautiful Autumn foliage was amazing. Heard about the apple picking there and the kids had a blast picking apples. Now if only they will eat them afterwards.

Vespers chanting and the cheeses and jams in the store. The grounds are beautiful, one can ask monks to pray for oneself or for dear ones in need, the architecture is great and the surrounding area is breathtaking.

We attended the Eucharist done in Gregorian Chant. Beautiful! Absolutely nothing to dislike. So much history and a beautiful gift shop with produce and cheese grown and/or made by the Benedictine monks.

Both mapping apps failed to get us here, but we did eventually make it. Despite being "lost" for a while, the area is quite nice for an afternoon drive in the country. The Abbaye itself is beautiful. There is not a lot to do per se, but there is an abundance of peace and quiet to be found here.

I visited this attraction in June of 2014. I had not been to Canada in over 20 years, so I was excited to visit new places I had not seen. This place is magnificent! You can really see the history, even as you drive up to it. Inside the monastery is beautiful decor, especially the way the tiles were set. It makes me wonder if it was hand crafted. On the walls is a history of the monastery. I can't read French, but it was still interesting. Beautiful scenery awaits anyone who peeks outside the windows. There was a huge chapel inside complete with one of the largest church organs I had ever seen. I would have loved to hear it play. A monk walked by and said bonjour, so I responded in kind. Downstairs is a gift shop with many items made by the monks there. They can only be purchased with Canadian currency, just to let you know. But everyone there was pleasant. This is one attraction not to be missed if you enjoy beautiful architecture and historic sightings. It's well worth the drive. The scenery on the trip is not bad either.
