We went yesterday, Saturday, for Cross Country Skating in the Oka Park. It is a little pricy, 22C$ per person, but you can use all the facilities. You go by car to the parking lot at the lake and right beside there is a beautiful cottage, where you can wax your skis and where you can change or sit and relax at the wood fireplace, You also can buy <fast food> at the café or bring your own lunch. The trails are very well maintained, for classic and skating. Even on Saturday it was not overcrowded. Lots of things to do for children, like snow slides and you also can rent kicksleds . There are also trails for snowshoeing and of course you can rent them. The park closes at 18:00.We haven't been there in summer, but it seams to be very nice at any season.

What a great campground for the Fall ! We rented a Huttopia tent and it came really well equipped. Almost luxury compared to our roughing it most of the time. Had a great time and the kitchen was really well equipped. Bring only linens (and food of course) and you're good to go. Those tents are really well designed. More like a cabin actually. Electricity and even heated.Nearby showers we're operated with quarters though - only drawback ... great beach too and nice hiking to sample Oka cheese.I can imagine this is uber popular int he Summer but we'll be back for sure.

Yea. Lots of old naked people hang out on one of the beaches. Kind of nasty. If you go with kids, avoid that area unless you like naked old people. The trails are very nice. Very clean park.

Alway enjoy Oka, we have stayed here in tent and their ready to camp huittopia tent. The words are nice and dense, lots if room between sites. There a perfect beach, about the best you can find in the part of the country, keep in mind this is not florida. The general store (accepts visa/debit) is a key value as you dont have to worry about anything.

My wife and I are from Ontario and booked a campsite for 2 nights at this park en route to Tadoussac, QC. We booked last minute and didn't expect much of the campgrounds, but we were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and privacy of the campsite. We stayed on the Meandre loop, which isn't as close to the beach/hiking, but wasn't as full as the other loops and as a result was much much quieter than the other areas (we could hear the loudness of the other areas in the distance, but it didn't disturb us at all).Campsites were fairly well spaced out and private, well kept and tucked away from the road about 10-15 metres. Bathrooms were close by (2 minute walk) and clean, although you need to bring quarters for the shower (4 x 25 cents for 4 minutes). The site we stayed on had a gravel base, which was somewhat bothersome although an additional layer of blankets or under-padding was enough to feel comfortable. Most sites were surrounded by trees, which meant lots of shade and shelter from rain.We didn't really check out the activiites in the park itself, since there was lots to do around the park (eg, art tour, biking, boating, bakeries, frommageries, etc, but overall it was a pretty good place with fairly nice campsites. We took the Hudson Ferry across the river, which took a 5 min wait, 10 min ride and cost $10. Well worth it rather than driving around the mainland.

Since Oka National Park has always been relatively close to where I've lived (barely over a half hour drive from our current home), I've been a number of times over the years, sometimes for day trips and other times for several days of camping and I've never regretted a visit. As today was my wife's last day of vacation, I suggested we go spend it on the beach at Oka and, once again, it was great. The beach, like anywhere else in the park, is well maintained and clean, with wide expanses of sand stretching for several kilometers. We rented kayaks and spent some time out on the lake, getting wet and soaking in some sun. More sun soaking, more getting wet and great picnic lunch rounded out our day. Anyone in the Montreal area looking for a lovely nature getaway for a few hours or days should definitely consider Oka National Park.

In the winter is a ski park and cross ski walking area but in the summer its a mosquitoes infested area. Maybe on a bike its fun, but hiking here was not very fun. The vies are wonderful you walk next to a lake, into a forest. wonderful simple hike. but you need to spry yourself every 30 min are else you are the main course. one are we were walking inside a mosquito cloud.

Invited by the family for a family gathering, it costs $17.50 to get in. OK.Then I am told that I can't park my car on the side of the small roads but that I must park in the rented camp site. OKThen I am told that I can't park in the rented site since only 2 cars are allowed and that I have to park somewhere else. Not OK.So where do I park? 'I don't know' says the park attendant, I just enforce the rulesNot OK.Then I go for a 20 (count 'em) walk to get to the beach. Along the way, I see everywhere signs, immediately off the beaten tracks, road or path, saying in bold letters 'POISON IVY' Now, I am not talking about one or two dispersed signs. I am talking about EVERYWHERE SIGNS. Which leads me to believe that there is Poison Ivy everywhere except on the roads and on clearly defined trails. So, you cannot walk in the woods. You cannot cut across the woods to get to a recreation center or the food area. You cannot have your children play anywhere but on the roads or on trails, in fear of them getting POISON IVY. I asked why this dreaded plants was not eradicated and I was told that this was nature and it had to remain as is. So kids can only really play at their 20X30 camp site and if they go anywhere else, then Poison Ivy it is.Finally, after a 20 minute walk, I get to the beach parking lot with somewhere around 3-5,000 cars all parked. OKI follow a path to the most crowded, unsanitary, greased up, dirty- troubled water beach, I have seen in years and only after a serious storm disrupted the shoreline. It is simply revolting. This is OKA National Park. This is a blight on TourismThis is a rip-off

Parc National d'Oka.
