My husband and I have been season subscribers for 8 years since moving to Calgary Alberta. We "compose your own Season,"which is a great feature we did not experience in other cities. The programs to choose from include Classical, Pops, Rock, Symphony Sundays for Kids, The latter has what they term "Instrument Petting Zoo" where kids can meet musicians and play real instruments. Wherever we go in the province we see CPO doing something interesting. Something unusual is hearing an ensemble accompany the heavy horses at the Stampede Exhibition grounds as the horses compete! In May of this year, they will be performing in Medicine Hat, and in June they will perform "Pops in the Park" at Heritage Park. They are a full time orchestra and work hard and smart!

In the past two months we have been to 3 performances - Pink Floyd, Simon & Garfunkel, and Let's Dance. They were all fantastic. Although the two singers for the Simon & Garfunkel concert could have been better ... the other two events were amazing. Conductors made for amiable MCs, guest singers and dancers were incredible. Who says the symphony has to be boring ... ?We sat in the loges - which often gives you an awkward viewing angle but more room, more privacy and better back support in the moveable chairs. It's the cheapest way to attend.

I've always been interested in gong to a CPO performance and finally decided to go after finding out about the CPO possibilities program - they give discounted tickets for patrons under thirty, which is pretty awesome. The show was fantastic, such talented individuals. I will be going back for sure. Many people ask about dress code - in my personal opinion, if you are going to dress up, this would be the occasion to do so, however you will see everything from formal attire to jeans and baseball caps so it's really up to what you feel comfortable in.Cheers!

Great orchestra with passion and sense of style. This is one of the most underrated orchestras in North America, playing in one of the finest halls in Canada.

Wonderful Christmas Performance. Very talented performers. Make sure you pre-order your drinks before the performance because the line too long at intermission.

I have been a season subscriber for years and the CPO just keeps getting better. A lot of that can be attributed to the musicians of course. However, I think front and center, Roberto Minczuk, the artistic director of the CPO, has to get a lot of recognition. Since his arrival in Calgary, the CPO has begun performing musical pieces that are out of the regular reportoire. The CPO of course, still performs the Classics and Pop Series, as well as pieces that involve very young children. I waas just in attendance for Faure's Requiem and Saint-Saëns - Symphony No. 3: "Organ Symphony" . What a grand evening, especially the second half which featured the fabulous Carthy Organ.

I've attended CPO events time and time again, and they don't disappoint. Programs are well thought through and produced, and the variety of their productions are impressive.

This is one of the best experiences in Calgary. A must see!!! Do not recommend small children, unless it is a children's dedicated performance.

What an evening of music. We were there for the Broadway show last Thursday night and we were treated to a first class show. We are so lucky in Calgary to have such an amazing Philharmonic. I will be going more often. Don't miss out, buy your tickets now!!
